Beyond and above, we had an amazing stay. The staff was so kind and helpful. Great breakfast with lots of options! We just loved it! The place is at walking distance from the railway station and the main market area. The host, Ian, is very friendly.

Nice & cozy place with warm & friendly staff that provides respite from the otherwise cold weather! Room is clean & location is close to supermarkets & restaurants. Although the building was built in 1882, the room amenities are quite modern.

String of Horses lies in the middle of one of the most beautiful and historic areas of Britain: near Hadrian's Wall, the Lake District and the Scottish borders. Beautiful room, great bathroom. Excellent dinner in the restaurant. Cooked breakfast included in room rate was very nice
