Situated in the market town of Skipton, on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales, The Woolly Sheep Inn has free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. All the meals we had (breakfast and dinner) were delicious and well presented. It was nice to see management taking the time to train staff.

It felt like coming home after a long day of traveling. The hosts, Shirley and Nigel, and the house itself gave us both a warm hug. We stayed for a week to explore Yorkshire for the first time and it couldn't have gone better. The views around Ellerton lodge are breathtaking. The hosts are perfect, they enjoy meeting their guests and are also perfectly happy to leave you alone if that's what you prefer. We were after recommendations and Shirley and Nigel provided! As everyone else says, the breakfast is fantastic. Shirley takes enormous care to take into account any dietary requirements and the fruit spread is gorgeous. Nothing is overdone, which is why we felt at home, and everything is genuine. The bedroom was lovely, clean and comfortable, we spent some time reading with a cup of tea in the bay window while the rain was lashing down, just enjoying ourselves.
