Free WiFi is available throughout the entire property. Yoshiki & Seongmi are two very warm people who are very concerned about the well-being of their guests! They give lots of good tips and are very open and communicative. The accommodation is very well located (very close to the train station), there was a very tasty breakfast and the rooms are spacious and cosy. We liked it very much:)

Boasting open-air hot spring baths, a heated indoor pool and beautiful Japanese gardens, Senjukaku offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation that has a historic charm. Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park is a 15-minute drive away. The most beautiful stay - the room was stunning, the hotel grounds are gorgeous (especially in autumn!) and they catered to our dietary requirements with a delicious vegetarian breakfast. The private onsen was such a treat too. The hotel is just a short walk to the gorgeous snow monkeys too which was so much fun. The staff are truly so welcoming. Make sure you buy a delicious, big apple from the sweet man selling fruit in the lobby some mornings!!!!!

Situated 3 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park, Yudanaka Onsen Yamazakiya offers accommodation in Yamanouchi with access to a hot spring bath. This 3-star ryokan offers free shuttle service and full-day security. The ryokan features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Familiar Hostal, Akira-san y Yumi-san (the family that owns the ryokan) were extremely kind and helpful. They even drive me by car to the train station in a rainy day. Dinner and breakfast was very delicious, specially the dinner so I definitely recommend to give it a try. The onsen is nice and private (you need to appoint in a time slot before) so it doesn’t have any issues with tattoo. During my long journey through Japan I visited a lot of onsen and ryokans, and personally I think this was the best ryokan that I stayed. Totally recommended.

A 5-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station, Tawaraya offers Japanese-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. Guests can relax in the indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths and wear colorful Japanese Yukata robes. Massages can be requested for an extra cost. High quality of Service, Food and options for Onsens. Sincere staff (mainly a capable family of mother, daughter and a brother) providing the best attention to guests. Made me feel looked after from all aspects. It is the best experience in my two weeks trip in the winter as a solo female older aged traveller.

At Daymaruya Ryokan, guests can enjoy hot-spring baths and traditional Japanese-style accommodations with free wired internet access. A free shuttle is available from Yudanaka Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away. Large room, nice hosts superb location both for public baths and restaurants. Sure the place might need a spruce up, but my own home also for that matter and it is clean. The futton was confortable as it has extra padding for tender foreigners. The onsen on site is not luxurious but is good. As mentioned by others, the hosts are very nice. I was greeted at the station and at my request imediately whisked to the monkey park to benefit from good weather. Also as check out is in the morning but i was not going anywhere right away and the weather was bad , the hostess exceptionnaly let me use for a while a room for which she had a cancellation. This was a very nice gesture and a sign of true hospitality. I do not usually give a 10 score, as nothing is perfect in this world, but relative to my needs which are basic clean accomodation, good location, helpful hosts and reasonable price, i am happy to give that score as a token of my appreciation.

Located in the Shibu hot-spring district, guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths at Suminoyu. Massages can be requested and a footbath is also available for extra relaxation. A free shuttle is offered from Yudanaka Train Station, which is a 10-minute drive away. Fantastic staff, great central location. They offer a shuttle ride to and from the train station which was awesome to have! Very clean ryokan, great amenities. The breakfast and dinner were very tasty! There are a lot of different public onsens that you have available to you as a guest. They also will drive you to the Snow Monkey Park entrance if you arrive at the appropriate time. The do not offer pick-up from the park, but the hotel is 15 or so minute walk from the park entrance. I actually enjoyed walking back (downhill too!), it was nice to see the town. You will not regret coming here! It was a wonderful and relaxing experience! Tips for Snow Monkey Park. Go later in the day or very early to avoid a lot of people. It also depends on the time of year for bigger or smaller crowds. I I came in early November and went in the late afternoon and there were many monkeys, and not a lot of people. However, I imagine can get quite busy during the winter time. They don't seem bothered by the people. I was even lucky to see on go in the hot spring which I don't know if that's normal for early November. Tips for public onsen: In the public onsen that I went to there wasn't a cleaning station, so instead you take the bucket and pour the onsen spring water all over the body upon entering. It's VERY hot, again the one I went to, which I believe is one of the bigger public onsens. I enjoy hot water, but this was so hot, I couldn't stay in it for more than 10 minutes.
