There are kayaks you can use to paddle over to the small island or upriver. I loved meeting Johnny's sweet mum and this is really a way to experience life in Ra'iatea. Johnny gave me a custom tour of the island. Bring mosquito repellent, as they are plentiful on the island. A net was provided, so I slept well.

We loved everything about our experience and stay with Isabella and Edward. They are wonderful hosts and their property is clean and in a fabulous location. You will need a car to travel to them. You should hire a car anyway to see the entire island, its gorgeous. We enjoyed conversing with the other guests during our stay and the breakfast of bread and fresh fruit was delightful. We highly recommend staying at La Maison Du Voyage and look forward to going back!

My husband and I liked the friendliness of the owners. The time they took to explain to us where we have what. The houses are big enough and cute. Very nicely furnished and carefully laid out. By far the best stay in French Polynesia. We got more than we expected.

At the end of the driveway we bought fresh Bonito from a local's eski for 1500 f, then cooked on induction element and it was delicious.

We had such a great stay at Fare Tapu! The hosts are amazing, they think about a lot of little details that make your stay memorable.
