The room was clean and well maintained. The accommodation is located by the water itself, where you can rent kayaks, pedal boats and padle without time or quantity restrictions. The owner is the nicest man I've ever met. He greeted me with a sincere smile that did not leave his mouth. He was very helpful. To be honest, I felt like I came to visit my favorite uncle. The atmosphere of this place is indescribable.

I had an amazing in Chirris Hostel in San Juan. The hostel is super small and cosy, the common kitchen and space are so cute, it feels like home. I stayed both in the private room and then the dorm is also perfect, , only 3 beds and spacy, so this is the perfect option if you want to save some money. Everything is super clean and convenient. Andrea and Marta are adorable people, they help you out with anything and are so kind. I 100% recommend staying here for your trip to lake Atitlan!

We liked the views, the yoga area, the coffee and kitchen area and the green courtyard. The owner/host was fantastic.

The view at this property is genuinely unparalleled with floor to ceiling windows looking out over the volcanoes. The balcony is framed in stunning honeysuckle and tropical flowers that bring hummingbirds right next to you and this is the closest thing to being in nature while still benefitting from the creature comforts of an indoor stay. We didn’t want to move from the chaise beds in front of the window- particularly because the hosts considered and provided so many thoughtful details to enhance the experience (like delicious fluffy bathrobes to enjoy as we drank our morning coffee looking out over Lake Atitlán). We appreciated the yoga mats and the open floor plan that allowed us to do some Barre3 in front of the view with the doors open to bring in the breeze. Even the lighting was extraordinarily thoughtful- with multicolored LEDs enhancing the foliage at night and sound activated lighting that really created some awesome ambiance. And, the host was truly wonderful too, allowing us a later check out so we could properly pack up before our afternoon tour plans in San Juan La Laguna. This was a tremendous value and such an awesome place- we were sad to leave and would stay there again in a hot second when we get to return to San Marcos.

Offering a year-round outdoor pool and located at the edge of Lake Atitlán, Hotel Toliman is set in San Lucas Tolimán in the Solola Region, 45 km from Antigua Guatemala. It’s paradise, not in a five star showy kind of way but in a wholesome, immersed in nature kind of way. I’ll miss the lovingly prepared breakfast overlooking the spectacular lake and mountain views and the luscious gardens set with a solar panel for the pool and veg garden for the organically homegrown food. The sweet staff make the place too. It’s off the beaten track in a non touristy part but that’s core to its charm.

Atitlan Sunset Lodge Apartments are located on the shores of Lake Atitlan in Santa Cruz La Laguna and boast excellent volcano views. Free Wi-Fi and kayak use are provided at this property. The best review I can give this place is this- I had such a bad stomach infection coming from Mexico that there seemed no conceivable way I could possibly enjoy this place. I was on such strong antibiotics So the fact that I loved it, and was looked after and everything was so beautiful is a real credit to the place It’s easy to love somewhere when you feel good. I felt TERRIBLE and this place felt like a sanctuary to recover in, in the most beautiful setting
