We stayed at Orelia with our 9-year-old son and had a great time. The place is located about 20 minutes walk from the center of Badulla, which in my opinion is a perfect balance between peaceful rest and easy access to the busy and noisy city. Badulla itself is a fantastic place to experience real local life. It’s a typical Sri Lankan town with very few tourists, and the people are incredibly friendly. I highly recommend visiting Badulla if you're looking for an authentic taste of Sri Lanka. As for the accommodation, there are a few wooden bungalows to choose from. Some are small, some are larger — we saw three of them, and each had its own unique charm. The smallest one had an amazing view and a spacious patio. The two larger ones had a second floor with stairs that might not be ideal for elderly guests, but they also had balconies and patios. The staff were extremely helpful and always willing to assist — whether it was doing the shopping, ordering meals from local restaurants, or anything else we needed. I highly recommend this place if you're planning a visit to Badulla.

It’s a new accommodation just 5 min outside Ella in nature. Which is good cause Ella was too busy for us. The room has its own balcony, there was some coffee and tea in the room and the shower was amazing. Lovely big bed, which was great as well as my husband is super tall. The man who checked us in and made us breakfast was an absolute champ, so friendly! The breakfast was the best we had in Sri Lanka! Fresh roti! Thanks so much! We had a lovely stay!

This place is one of our favorites in Sri Lanka, with an amazing host, Teesha, who is incredibly kind and eager to provide guests with fantastic experiences. It's also great for animal lovers, thanks to the owner's friendly dogs. With just two rooms, we stayed in the Deluxe Double Room with Balcony, a little slice of paradise. The room boasts a luxurious, spacious bathroom and breathtaking views, especially of the sunrise and sunset. Its location is excellent, just a short walk from Ella's main street. The breakfasts, enjoyed with a stunning view, were exceptionally good and the perfect way to start the day. Truly one of the best and most unique places to stay in Ella. We had a amazing stay here, the rooms are very new, good water pressure and very clean. You can enjoy a nice view from the balcony. Sat on the train writing this and genuinely feel sad to have left this place. Felt like a home away from home (with better food and views). The whole family are so so kind and we felt like and extension of their family during our stay. The accommodation is lovely with your own separate bedroom and bathroom (even mini fridge) with the most beautiful terrace overlooking the hills. We had some of the best food of our whole trip here. The breakfasts were huge and delicious and they were very flexible with timings so we could get out early for walks! We also did a cooking class with the family which was a highlight and learnt how to cook so many dishes! The son gave us a tuktuk ride to the beginning of our walks and to the train station at 0630am! (and even found out for us that the train was running from the next town instead) We also rented a scooter for the day which was a great way to explore the surrounding area and they gave us lots of pointers about where to go! Cannot fault this place at all. If you are lucky enough they have availability on your dates, definitely don’t hesitate to stay!
