Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport is 29 km away, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. Xiaomei took care of everything for us, including park reservations, tickets for shows, accommodating our requests and changing needs, helping us out , carrying our luggage in the rain, and providing umbrellas when needed, and finally even taking me to a hospital and serving as a translator between the crew and me. She took care of our commute to everywhere we needed, made us terrific breakfast, and sat with us for explanations as our guide to the area. The hotel itself is a great eco friendly resort and is a wonderful place to stay. This was the best hotel in our 1 month and 12 different accommodations. It was much more than a place to sleep or stay, at was a cardinal part of our trip . We stayed in the rainbow units and they are absolutely beautiful.

Among the facilities of this property are a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk and a shared kitchen, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Guests can make use of the outdoor fireplace or the picnic area, or enjoy views of the lake and river. the room was lovely with a view and air conditioned and clean. the people running the hotel were very helpful to us as foreigners. they drove us to the Southgate entrance of Zhangjiajie national park which a 4 min drive and cooked us dinner for 40 yuan which was very helpful as the area is more quiet. this might be an option for you if they are available that night. there is also a restaurant across the road which was great! the hotel also offers a basic breakfast for free. Theres a busier area with fruit market stalls and more restaurants about a 20 min walk. the lady working there was very patient with us and helped us book all of our national park and day trip tickets (i would suggest doing this before you come to avoid missing out in busy seasons).

The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. We spent a night in 张家界东篱山居民宿. I chose the place partly because it was close to the Zhangjiajie airport but mainly because of its view. We arrived late (almost midnight), the host picked us up from the airport (for free), we didn’t see much outside the house in the darkness, but were taken by the artistic decoration of the rooms. Next day, we were lucky to wake to a clear morning and greeted by a stunning view of the Tianmen Mountains (天门山) and Seven Stars Mountains （七星山）. The Tianme Cave (天门洞) is clearly visible from the house. The view is even better than I expected from the Booking.com’s reviews. Besides its hilltop location with excellent views all around and including a golf course right next door, the house also has a manicured garden including a lotus pond, clearly the owner has put in a lot of effort landscaping and maintaining the property. I only wished that we had more time to stay here and just enjoy its view and surroundings.

The hotel is family-run,the hosts are very helpful (they will help you plan your visit to ZhangJiajie park and around and even book for you tickets). The location is very convenient,only few minutes away from the west entrance of the park, in a quiet open place. The bedroom was large, clean and well-equiped. We recommend the place and would definitely book again if we were to come back to Zhangjiajie !
