This was our last stop on our three week trip through Costa Rica and ended up being our favorite place. La quebrada lodge is just beautiful and the huge pool in the middle is awesome. Everyone is so welcoming and rooms are large and super clean. We ended up ordering breakfast from Maria every morning which was very tasty and plentiful.

This was our 8th accommodation on this trip to Costa Rica, and it had the best of all worlds. Quiet enough to feel remote, but connected to groceries, gas, and services in town. Fantastic A/C in the common space and both bedrooms. A thorough cleaning job, enough towels for a family of 4 (including pool towels), and a very well-equipped kitchen. The owners were so kind to accommodate early check-in so that our young daughters could get settled; they even brought them a high chair and kids' chairs, which they adored! The view from the pool is gorgeous and we appreciated the little outdoor gym, too. We watched the cleaning team wipe down outdoor railings and dust off loungers. They're clearly taking pride in keeping this place up. We would definitely stay again!

Note: during my stay I was the only guest of the hotel. The location is what makes this hotel great. Next to the beach, which is beautiful and very quiet with most of the time only a few.fishermen. I wish I would never have to leave. Bring your own food and drinks because there are almost no restaurants or shops around the hotel. You can use the communal kitchen, which is well stocked with all the amenities you need to cook a meal. The breakfast that was made every morning was really plentiful, for me even enough to also cover lunch. Everything was also really delicious! Don't expect luxury, the rooms are pretty basic and have only cold showers (which is fine because it isn't that cold). I didn't have issues with mosquitoes. The ceiling fan just ran 24/7 and kept them out I guess.

The location was perfect for us, close to the beach so easy to go down for a swim and just to sunbathe. I enjoyed being away from a large, busy area but close enough to a local shop that has everything you might need. The rooms were spacious and clean. The restaurant was lovely with a good variety of food, even many vegan options (huge bonus!), a huge selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and the cocktails were VERY tasty. The grounds of the hotel were immaculate and added a wonderful feel to the stay. A big bonus was having the tennis court on-site, it was nice to play a little tennis after days of doing nothing but relaxing!

I LOVE the attention of Agi and Guido, they went above and beyond my expectations! I am truly happy of having chosen Cabañas Cañas Castilla as our getaway place to recharge and end the year! Everything they prepared was so delicious. Agi even fixed my wife a really nice chicken soup as she was sick and it was not just a plate, but an entire pot of it! That she even ate it for three days! I had dinner one night and it felt like just eating at home, so good, clean and tasty! We will definitely come back soon. The location is excellent as it's just 10 minutes away from the town of La Cruz, so you are away from the busy town but close enough to get anything you need. Definitely a hidden gem to come back to whenever possible! 👌❤️

Very well equipped and lovely decorated. Great mountain view and even a built-in stargazing net where you can enjoy the sunset and the night sky. We absolutely loved this stay!

Family run property, putting in the best effort.
