Το Matilde's Chalet Etna Nature House παρέχει καταλύματα με δωρεάν WiFi, εγκαταστάσεις μπάρμπεκιου, βεράντα και δωρεάν ιδιωτικό χώρο στάθμευσης. This place is awesome. Full disclosure, you are WAY in there - like, on the hillside. The road getting in is super bumpy and hilly, so not for the faint of heart nor for a SmartCar I wouldn't think. We were in a midsize crossover and it struggled a bit. But once you're in, it's awesome. There are just a couple of buildings, with the amazing treehouse as advertised, and we stayed in the smaller, newer building which is basically on its own private property or section of the larger property. 2 bedrooms, one bath, not much else, really. A small table where you can grab a meal together, couch for 2 where the kids sat and decompressed (after their time in the treehouse) while we made one dinner onsite. Which I recommend if you want a glass of wine, because I was not willing to do the drive in - and all of the gates and locks - after a nice glass of Nero D'Avola. So bring provisions with you! We read, and took note of, that gem of advice from other reviewers and it's critical. But actually the supermarket in Nicolosi is awesome (IMPORTANT NOTE: you want to the Supermercati Deco at Via della Quercia, 24/A, 95030 Nicolosi because the other ones that maps suggest are all closed) and convenient, and so that's a quick and reasonably convenient option. But we hiked, toured the lava flows, kids had a blast in the tree house and on the grounds, and we did Mount Etna one day and Aci Castello (recommend!) another day. Great base camp, nice property and building and just what we wanted to do a couple of days of convening with nature. Fun with kids.

Armando's hospitality is outstanding. The breakfast he prepared for us was perfect and entirely homemade. His advice was very helpful for visiting Etna and Taormina. The house is nice and has a beautiful view, especially at sunrise.

If you want to stay on Etna, somewhere quiet and peaceful, this is the place! It is 30 minutes drive to the nearest town with stores/cafes etc to get supplies (the tap water isn't drinkable by the way!) There is lots of good walking through the woods and amazing views of the volcano. The chalet is extremely comfortable and the mattress was perfect!! Marco was extremely helpful, we arrived early and he made the effort to give us access remotely before he could arrive to show us everything personally. We loaded up on firewood and spent 2 days sitting by the fire, and had several visits from the local fox, who is quite timid but very cute and always looking for food! Electricity, WiFi, hot water, heating etc all perfect.

The location is good to explore Mount Etna and the surroundings areas (Bronte, Taormina etc). The host was very easy to communicate with. We didn't meet him personally but when we arrived we had a bottle of wine, chips, store bought cakes, tea as well as all the seasonings we could need to cook - that was really nice!

Το Giardino Carya - Giarre Centro έχει θέα στον κήπο και διαθέτει κήπο και αυλή. Το σημείο ενδιαφέροντος Τελεφερίκ Taormina - Σταθμός Mazzaro είναι περίπου 29 χλμ μακριά. Only one word to describe this place: magical!! We chose the house to be mid-point between Catania and Taormina to do some exploring along the Ionian Coast. The wood garden house is located behind a grand palazzo, enclosed by historic stone walls, and surrounded by trees, so you are in your own private paradise. Hosts Elena and Maurizzio welcomed us in person and showed us around. They were so kind and helpful. Downstairs is a full kitchen, large pull-out sofa, and full modern bathroom. The upstairs bedroom is large and comfortable with its own modern bathroom. Outside, we parked our car in the driveway all behind automatic metal doors. All secluded, private, and secure. Behind the house is the main thoroughfare of Corso Italia where you find cafes and restaurants. The house is also within blocks of Piazza Francesco d’Assisi where we found a laundry where we washed our clothes. Perfect. Elena and Maurizzio gave us great dinner recommendations: a delicious dinner at a neighborhood trattoria, and the nearby fishing village of Torre Archirafi and a fantastic seafood restaurant. We are so happy to have found Giardino Carya and to have met such wonderful hosts. We will definitely come back soon.
