FAQs about hotels in Vienna

Waltz Through the Pretty Streets of Vienna

Previously the centre of the Hapsburg Empire, Vienna is the current centre of Austria’s culture, economics, and politics. Visitors may think they are in a museum as they walk through the historic first district, but Vienna also has a youthful and dynamic side with lots to offer.

St Stephens Cathedral in the Inner-City is surrounded by the Ring Road, with grandiose buildings like City Hall, the Austrian Parliament, the State Opera House and the Burgtheater. Enjoy the city where amazing musicians like Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and Mahler once lived. If you’'re visiting during the carnival season, practice your waltzing skills at one of Vienna’s 200 glamorous annual balls.

Visitors can wander around beautiful park grounds in the Wiener Prater and Schonbrunn Palace provides imperial and extravagant grounds to stroll through. After exploring, eat with the locals by enjoying famous sandwiches at Trzesniewski, a Wiener Schnitzel at Cafe Central or taste traditional wines at the city’s many Viennese pubs.

Vienna International Airport is the doorway to the heart of Vienna. Booking.com has luxury hotels, charming bed & breakfasts and modern apartments to meet any accommodation needs for your stay in Austria’s capital.

A beautiful city that has made it into my top 5 in the world...

A beautiful city that has made it into my top 5 in the world. Architecturally, one of, if not the best! Everywhere you turn, there are incredible buildings, a photographers dream and so many wonderful places to eat and drink and watch the world go by. Shows and concerts to alight your senses and to play havoc with your mind, in that you only wanted more.

There are too many tourists in central Vienna even very late...

There are too many tourists in central Vienna even very late in September which makes queuing for everything frustrating and nowhere to sit outdoors in good weather for food - the wurst stands were heaving the Sunday I left. I booked 3nts & did a day trip to Salzburg and Salzkammergut. Salzburg was way more chilled with a wine festival. I didn't have enough time to see the palace or Belvedere so I did the ring road tram self tour on the 24hr pass for €8 & visited Beethoven's house. I booked the CAT from city to airport expecting great things: the lounge area seats were stained, unhelpful staff, the free lockers are always full but the station lockers at Mitte take card and are a reasonable rate (take photo of code): entrance is opposite an escalator coming up from underground at street level. I would take S7 in future. If you are into museums, gardens and concerts then you'll need 3-4 days to really get the best of Vienna. Had I not taken a day trip I would have fitted most things into my 3nt stay. Public buildings are very grand. Canal area is covered in tagging - didn't appeal to me. I also found a Christmas market on the night I arrived in downtown. If you are staying for a lot longer and in the season, there are many types of day trips by train, boat or tour you can take to Hallstatt, Salzburg, Bratislava, Budapest however, I would suggest several days in Budapest.

We loved Vienna, especially the Belvedere Palace.

We loved Vienna, especially the Belvedere Palace. The section of Klimt art work is superb and there was a new area all about his life, with photos and letters, which was so informative and interesting. We also enjoyed a wonderful concert at St Charles church.

Pretty city. Lovely architecture but very expensive.

Pretty city. Lovely architecture but very expensive. €6.5 for a double espresso. Makes the uk look cheap. And in central Vienna it seems as if they have been infected with American sickness of asking for tips always and everywhere.

A wonderful historic city, every building in the old town and the new town is an architectural heritage site. The public transport system is very simple and convenient. Despite the high prices, there is always something to see and do.

What a grand old city Vienna is!

What a grand old city Vienna is! Make sure to use the wonderful public transport to get around to more outlying regions like the wheel and the Danube! The wheel is in an amusement park that we had fun in, and I found the price worth the experience once (most city wheels go around more than once, but this one doesn't so get all your pictures on that first go-round). We had a break and some apps at The View right on the Danube, and it was wonderful! I was here for work before spending an extra day for fun, and we were lucky to get a walking tour of the Museumplatz and adjoining areas with a professional guide. We didn't do any museums except the St. Virgil Chapel (Virgilkapelle) that was accessed from the Ubahn 1 (if memory serves me), and it was very cool! My husband went to the Museum of Natural History and wasn't impressed, but a colleague's kids loved it. We would have gone to the zoo and the Sisi and Wien museums if we had more time. If you are near Westbahnhof, go to Yummy Cooking about 3 minutes from there - a great mom and pop Asian restaurant with amazing duck - get it with the rice not the noodles and try the summer rolls and mango & avocado salad - all very yummy! Be patient with yourself if you're new navigating the public transport!

Location: close to many restaurants and bars, supermarkets and nachmarket which active also at night. Underground station near by. Close to city centre Staff: friendly and helpful. Speaks also good English. Facilitates : The hotel opened May 2025. With AC and elavator which is hard to find in Vienna. The rooms which are facing the inner courtyard are very quiet. Breakfast looked good but we didn’t have it.

The aparthotel is next to the metro line, which takes you right in the city centre. It has large rooms with a tiny kitchen equipped with everything you need. Very clean, very comfy. Not to forget about the free water and coffee in the lobby. We liked it very much and it is a lovely place to stay if you are visiting Vienna.

Truth be told Hotel Motel One has an excellent location. Walking distance to the Opera and the Vienna city centre. We were lucky enough to come across Sheroo (who does the night shift) who deserves an honourable mention because he was the one who solved the major problems we faced regarding our stay and salvaged our stay.

There was big choice of dishes at breakfast and everything was absolutely delicious! My heartily recommendations to choose this hotel!
