An interesting city to walk through at day and night time as...
An interesting city to walk through at day and night time as well. You can walk along the promenade at Caspian Sea for many kilometers, can visit a lot of nice parks and the views to the Flame Towers at night are incredible. The walks through the old city as well as neighboring streets with older European style buildings are also pretty enjoyable. The city is really beautiful and easy to get around. I found walking by the sea side incredibly relaxing. I particularly enjoyed the botanic garden and my day trip to Gobustan. I tried to eat at the local restaurants and really liked Firuze and Dolma. I'd highly recommend the düşbere which is a dumpling soup. The staff were helpful on check in and helped me sort out a very early morning taxi when I left, which was cheaper than I had expected. The absolute best bit was the rooftop restaurant for breakfast though, with hanging plants, singing birds and great views of the Flame Towers and the city roofs.
