    Lots of green space in the Sault to bike and hike (many well groomed trails through beautiful forested lands). I'd also recommend a ride on the Miss Marie (tour boat goes through the locks). The area around the Sault was also beautiful, we took a road trip to Searchmont; the maples were in their glory - changing colours amidst rocky ridges and rivers and lakes.

    Very clean and beautiful city.

    Very clean and beautiful city. They have a very long boardwalk by the lake and you can see the boats going thru the locks. They have train tours and boat cruises that is quite unique and fun. We had dinner at Montana's which was right by the lake. The view was spectacular and the food amazing. The one-way streets were not so great.

    I love Sault Ste Marie!

    I love Sault Ste Marie! I've visited several times when I drove through on road trips. Even when I arrive late at night (as I did on September 10th, 2025 ) it was difficult to continue on my journey early the next morning because there are so many interesting things to see including shopping! I generally depart from The Soo later than planned!

    The train ride was amazing and you can bring your own lunch and drinks for the ride. We purchased a day pass for fishing. And went fishing nearby off the boardwalk by the water. Hard to determine prices when it states one price and then you receive a receipt or statement stating a different price very confusing. Can make a huge difference for who hotel stays when booking it will stay $380 and stay on your credit card as $540 CAD That is a big difference.

    We did the Agawa Canyon train tour enjoyed it very much.

    We did the Agawa Canyon train tour enjoyed it very much. The Miss Marie Soo lock tour is not to be missed, it is truly worth it. We also drove around to Harmony Beach, Batchawana Bay and Ojibway Park and Trail. We also drove to Manitoulin Island by car.

    I have been travelling the the Sault for years and not much...

    I have been travelling the the Sault for years and not much has changed. The town folks are friendly but very cautious. The streets are in need of repair much like other places but may be a bit worse.

    the hotel was perfect for us,, we stayed 2 nites. We wanted a walk in from the car to the room because we were travelling with bikes. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom, although small, the shower was good. It was the best wifi on our travels this trip, quick. The staff were very accommodating to any request. Location was perfect for our purposes. Good value. It is an older and a bit dated does the trick. Good value.

    Very clean hotel with very comfortable beds. The bathroom was really clean and the water pressure great! Breakfast was satisfactory with hot food and cold cereal and fruit. Would gladly recommend this hotel.
