However, quite unpleasant is the area of the main station - it smells of weed, strange existences hanging around, annoying - one must not stop even for a while... immediately surrounded by them. Otherwise, Berlin, at least the center, looks very nice in autumn 👍 What was surprising to me, this central part, where the hotel was (in front of the Museum für Naturkunde) was very quite in the night...! Berlin has character.
Berlin has character. It's one of the coolest cities in the world! Great places to eat, hang out with friends, walk & explore and of course it's the best party place! I really like the mix in Berlin.
I really like the mix in Berlin. It's clearly a working city, but there's plenty of touristy things to do. The history is obviously it's main draw, it's fascinating. There are some stunning buildings that we learnt were rebuilt following WWII and Soviet rule. Also some really ugly USSR style buildings which add an interesting contrast. We did a walking tour which was excellent - Discover Berlin Half-Day Walking Tour booked on Tripadvisor. Walid who took our tour was great, very knowledgeable and funny. If anyone is interested in the history of the 2nd World War then Berlin is certainly a must see. So many Spy novels and films over the last 50 years often use it as a backdrop....
