Vibrant and Colourful Barcelona

Lively and colourful Barcelona faces the Mediterranean Sea and features the world's top city beaches, including Sant Sebastià, Barceloneta and Somorrostro beaches. There is plenty to see and experience in this city of great architecture: the historic Gothic Quarter, the amazing modernist design of Gaudi’s creations and the popular Las Ramblas.

Barcelona is famous for its street performances, colourful markets and great Catalan dining. Easy to explore on foot or using the reliable metro, the city is full of things to do and views to see!

Discover the hidden squares and architectural pearls of Ciutat Vella and visit the locals’ favourite meeting spot, La Plaça Catalunya. Wander the sunny beachfront or watch an FC Barcelona game at Camp Nou, the largest stadium in Europe.

The city’s most popular food quarter is Barceloneta with plenty of popular restaurants serving seafood and tapas. If it’s shopping you’re after, visit the Grácia and return to the Ciutat Vella for small shops full genuine souvenirs, designer fashion and fresh produce.

Getting to Barcelona is an easy trip from El Prat International, Girona or Reus Airports. Find modern hotels, fancy apartments and cheap hostels on Booking.com, sure to have the perfect accommodation for your holiday!

Barcelona was very easy to get around .

Barcelona was very easy to get around .Very busy city if you don't like crowds maybe not a place for you. Eating out can be pricey but if you take out it can be cheaper. Many cool things to see as the history is long. I would return if it was closer but long ways from Canada so probably not.

We had many tours including a paella cooking class, Flamenco show, a trip out to Monseratte, and of course one to Park Guell and Sagrada Familia- which left us just enough time to walk around and experience other great food in nearby restaurants . I loved walking La Rambla early in the morning - out to the port - beautiful!!

Barcelona was just waiting to be explored.

Barcelona was just waiting to be explored. We were able to negotiate the busy streets and find our way around to see a lot of the local sites on foot. We enjoyed the culture of the city and the social vibes that were obvious everywhere you go; the street cafes come alive in the afternoons. Enjoyed the usual tourist spots including the must-see Sagrada Familia. Hop-on hop-off bus tour was an excellent way of getting your bearings and finding out about the city.

    Barcelona is being destroyed.

Barcelona is being destroyed. I was there 3 years ago and now there are a lot of immigrants, protests and hate signs in the city. Barcelona is a city for all tourists and it is a great shame that it is being destroyed by a minority

I love seeing the different architecture along my walks around. Local people are generally very friendly. The only down side are good tend to be on saltier side for my taste. However not MSG salty that will make you thirst.

Discovered a wonderful Cafe, Sun & Moon Tapas & Drinks on Placa De Sant Josep. The most friendly and helpful staff. Coffee and food was great. Great to see all the Gaudi sites. Easy to get around with the public transport.
