Costa Dorada Thrills and Spills
Like all Costa Dorada resorts, Salou has a fantastic beach and fun watersports. But it’s the wide, palm-lined promenade that really makes it stand out. Boutiques and exclusive restaurants line its western end, while in the east the bay curves to a point where a sculpture leans out to sea. Head there for lovely views of the sandy beach and distant mountains.
Further round the coast towards Cap Salou the beach becomes rocky coves, whilst inland is PortAventura, Spain’s most visited theme park. This huge complex includes rides and rollercoasters in themed zones, and a waterpark with slides, flumes and pools galore. Also here is Lumine, a golf club boasting 2 courses designed by Greg Norman.
Next door is Port Halley shopping centre which also has a 3D cinema and bowling alley. The best shopping in Salou though is in the old town, where designer shops stay open until late.
Other Salou attractions include the dancing Font Illuminosa fountains, Bosc Aventura’s high ropes, and Aquopolis - a great waterpark for younger children. Although the town has plenty of arcades, clubs and bars, peace and quiet can be found.
Reus Airport is the nearest and it’s around 20 minutes’ drive from there to the apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Salou bookable on Booking.com.

Salou is a town full of drunk, no class people from mostly English speaking countries, French and Spanish too, they seemed like trouble making degenerates who shame their respective countries due to their bad behaviour, the "supermarkets", are actually expensive convenience shops designed to rip off the tourists, everything is of low quality and too expensive, I wouldn't stay in Salou again if I was given a holiday for free with spending money, it was that bad, my advice is, don't go to Salou unless you are a brain dead lowlife.Guest review byAdamSpain - 8.0
Great place for families, middle and older end.
Great place for families, middle and older end. Not as busy with stag/hen/single crowds as Beni and Maga. BUT make sure your flight is into Reus and not Barcelona airport, some booking sites are not too clear. Big difference in travel times to resort.Guest review byKennethUnited Kingdom - 10.0

When selecting your beach vacation in Spain, this is the place! Salou is the perfect town for all family members. The beaches are beautiful and very clean. For the kids there is a theme park in nearby PortAventura! For the adults, Salou is right next to the Priorat Region; one of the two premier wine regions of Spain. lovely place to visit for families felt very safe there We ate in lots of different restaurants also lovely little places down by the beach at night time to have a drink. We were able to get around -no bother I wish i had got more info about Bus Plana as it seems to be the way to get around for further destinations but maybe next time! We visited the Caribe water park, ferrari land and also rented bikes and cycled to Cambrils which has a bike land all the way and is a lovely short cycle. Salou is overrated.
Salou is overrated. The beach is fine in some parts, but there were cigarette butts in the sand. It's not the city's fault, but the lack of civility on the part of some users. The city should be cleaner, with fewer souvenir shops. Could have better restaurants and bars. They could improve the quality of the services offered.Guest review byELSA
