It is beautifully located and very well maintained. Has theatres and clean beaches and feels calm and gently old fashioned. Love the Towner art gallery ne and the pier and the variety of well known and individUal shops. Great variety of places to eat and drink. Nice town, excellent cafes and pubs. Interesting tour bus, lots of nice drop of points to see, specially beachy head and seven sisters. Not too pricey either and the ticket lasts for 24 hours. Eastbourne has a lovely long promenade and beaches with a huge diversity of things to see for all age groups. The town centre is different every time I visit. The are lots of shops. Eastbourne is centrally located for the South Downs and Beachy Head, Brighton, Hastings and Lewes. There is a lovely marina with boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops. It's a pebble beach but there is a walkway with seating for coffee/ice creams. A bandstand with live music also on the seafront. The staff were friendly, the room we had was spacious and comfortable, and it was useful to have a lift to the ground floor. Guess you'd pay more for a sea view. Acceptable breakfast. Small charge for car park but allowed to leave car until 3pm on departure day. An old-fashioned-style hotel built in 1880 reminded me of something from a period drama. Lots of Northern OAPs were on holiday here. Fab breakfast was well worth the extra fiver.
