Lovely little village with a great local serving great value for money meals. Good base for seeing all the local villages, all of which are so pretty, not just Lavenhem. Quiet village but you must visit nearby Lavenham and Long Melford. We chose Scutchers and the Hare in Long Melford, The Swan at Lavenham and the Henny Swan by the River Stour to eat. All were well worth the visit with great food, great service and value for money. We loved Lavenham Falconry and spent 1/2 day with their birds of prey experience. Location is close to famous Long Melford and its many pubs and restaurants. There are two historic Tudor mansions on your doorstep and you are about an hours drive to the Suffolk coast. Our room was immaculately clean, the bed was so comfy and smelt so fresh and clean. Breakfast is delicious with lots of choice. Would recommend to anyone as a great place to stay. They left us a card and chocolates in our room for our Ruby anniversary which was a lovely surprise. Lovely building and wide ranging gardens with places to sit, Our hosts were kindness itself and we shall definitely rebook, perhaps for the larger suite on the ground floor as the access is easier.
