The waterside bistro is a short walk through St Mary's churchyard, which is opposite the hotel, food was delicious, there is a lovely walk along the riverside, and also another pub The Tyneside Tavern which has a great italian style restaurant. Haddington is a lovely picturesque little town, & quite central for visiting North Berwick, and a good distance to get into Edinburgh, where you can park & ride, picking up a tram at The Port of Leith

Arriving after the shops had closed didn't present a very favourable first impression of the town but a whole host of coffee shops and small businesses opened up the next day. Who would expect to find a thriving turreted Austrian Konditorie tucked in a corner.Good as a base for walking, and seemed to be on a large number of bus routes.

Nice lunch in Diggorys.

Nice lunch in Diggorys. Good food in The Victoria, good service in both places. But £10 for a glass of wine in Victoria is too much. Its a small town not a city. Small town, not much to do. Half an hour is all you need. So don't expect too much,

Haddington too was a disappointment.

Haddington too was a disappointment. A walk round the high street took less than a couple of hours. There were very few places to eat and after eating in the hotel on our first night (very restricted menu) and travelled to Gifford for dinner on the second evening. There were a couple of brown tourist signs advertising restaurants which we never found, despite taking the car to see if they were further out of town.

The welcome from Anna was great. We felt like valued guests. The room was one of the upgraded rooms, and it certainly looked it. Breakfast was very good. The full Scottish is a challenge! Being in the centre of Haddington meant everything was close by. Will definitely use it again. There is a free public car park within 100 metres of the Victoria too.

We weren’t provided with breakfast. We were happy to cater for ourselves. The location is perfect for us as it’s very close to Haddington where we were attending concerts in the Lammermuir Festival.

The village of Haddington is great, nearby. The house itself is roomy, vibrant and new. Kitchen well equipped. Communication between owners and myself was easy and more than sufficient.
