London is what you make it.

London is what you make it. There are so many different parts of London. Yes it is busy, it is the capital. The centre of town is always busy. I love walking along The Southbank up to Covent Garden. Out of the centre, you have endless possibilities whether it's Hampstead Heath, Camden, Tooting... Explore and enjoy. If you want to see the place use the bus, if you want to get there quicker underground.

As a Canadian, your biggest heartache will be the CAD -> GBP. You figure every $1 GBP is $2.00 CAD (that's the formula I used, but obviously, it varies.. it was $1.87 exchange at the time of this writing) Use a card like Revolut or similar.

The oldest pie and mash shop remaining in London is opposite. £8.15 for pie and mash and a mug of tea - bargain. A must for those interested in history. London Bridge Tube is about 15 minutes walk away.

Be prepared to find that meals and drinks are expensive in London city centre. I did find reasonably priced restaurants close by to where I was staying. There are so many places to visit. I truly could of done with a few more days. The free entrances to the National Art and Portrait galleries was a real bonus. To people watch in particular around Trafalgar Square was entertaining for far more than should of lingered there

We've lived in London so we knew the lay of the land but still a great place to visit. Good shopping, great drinking, good food, lot's to do. Plan ahead but leave time to just wander. Find a pub, have a beer, talk to someone random. Fave spots are Camden, Covent Garden, Oxford St and Regent St. Beers in Soho and simply looking around. Learn the underground and don't be afraid to get it wrong, you'll end up somewhere interesting anyway.

The apartment was exactly as in the pictures, spotlessly clean, new, well equipped and incredibly central located. The staff was always super nice and professional, smiling and welcoming. 24h reception service is a very appreciated extra, considering the "only apartments set" of the hotel. Of course, it is not cheap, but it has not to be, in order to provide this high service standard. TLS definetely became my londoner residence for the next trips.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Dorsett Apartments – an ideal location in Notting Hill, undoubtedly one of the best districts in London. The studios are perfectly equipped, the beds spacious and comfortable, and the staff among the friendliest and most helpful I’ve ever encountered in any London hotel. Every need was met with care and attention.
