FAQs about hotels in Budapest

A City of Two Halves

With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.

Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it offers the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.

Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try this than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.

To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur, while based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.

With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels on offer in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes your choice completely easy.

Absolutely fantastic city for culture, history, and to enjoy the Danube. The city is buzzing with music and art - we pretty much had live music every night over dinner. The Fisherman's Bastion and the Matthias Church were absolute highlights. The parliament building is the most beautiful parliament building you'll ever see. The cruise is super worth it. Hungarian cuisine is also super underrated and we recommend you try lots of it - you will not be disappointed.

I have now been twice and seen most of the cultural hotspots. This time we went to go to the ballet at the Opera HOuse. Performance very good and theatre very comfortable. Lots of choice eating out - for high end cuisine recommend Textura. Tasting menu with wine pairing a genuine gastronomic experience.

One of the most beautiful places in Europe.

One of the most beautiful places in Europe. Definitely recommend visiting. Most if not all people we met could speak very good English. It was easy to get around with the bus or metro. All easy to understand. Food was great without exception. 10 out of 10 for Budapest from me.

I absolutely love Budapest – the city is full of life, history, and beautiful architecture. Walking along the Danube and exploring both Buda and Pest is always a special experience. Every district in Budapest has its own soul and unique vibe, both day and night, even outside the center. There are parks in every neighborhood, plenty of cafés and restaurants for every taste, and a vibrant nightlife that makes the city feel alive everywhere you go.

    Danube river cruises.

Danube river cruises. Godollo royal palace was amazing if you are into the history of the Habsburgs. City park was lovely with autumn colours - there was even a "balloon flight" which we enjoyed. Buda was very historic (we stayed in Pest) - the open top Red Sightseeing Buses are very good value and an excellent way to get bearings. We discovered that if you are over 65 you don't have to pay on the Metros!! Bonus.

As seasoned travellers, we have stayed in various apartments around the world, and this property has definitely exceeded our expectations. Per booking.com description, the apartment location is perfect, within walking distance to the various places of interest in Budapest city centre. The apartment owner has been nothing less than helpful and attentive to our queries. We would like to commend him for his hospitality and assistance. The apartment is very cosy and homely, and this has made our trip to Budapest very memorable.

Location is amazing. Right over the road from Semmelweis Klinikak metro station where you can get the train a couple of stops into the city centre. The staff were super friendly and helpful even when things were a bit chaotic during a power cut. The room was comfortable and nicely designed although the bathroom was a bit bare bones. If you are looking for a pleasant hotel from which to explore Budapest then I recommend this property.

It's a great hotel if you are coming to Budapest by car since it has ample parking space, and if you plan on driving to the city centre. It's a clean, comfortable hotel at a good price.
