We spent little time during the day in Skibbereen itself.
We spent little time during the day in Skibbereen itself. We selected it as a central point to stay as we explored Mizen Head and other areas in the region. Highly recommend Wild Ways for breakfast and pizza, the Church Restaurant for dinner in a beautiful surrounding, and O'Neill Coffee for a beautiful flat white. Great Murphy's in the Corner Bar too! The town was very nice with a great car park over by ALDI.
The town was very nice with a great car park over by ALDI. Lovely just to walk around and browse the shop windows and potter about. For groceries also check out the Fields SuperValu store, a fantastic selection of foods and really nice staff. While there you must also visit to Lough Hyne, a most wonderful surprise. Heidi was so good to bring us a few logs for the stove on the first night - typical Irish weather! The living area was so cosy espeically with the stove, and the bed was extremely comfortable!
