We had an amazing stay at Halcyon in Mawella! The hotel is perfectly located – peaceful, with a quiet, clean beach just steps away. The atmosphere is super relaxing, and the pool area is beautiful with plenty of sunbeds, so there’s always a spot to unwind. We ate all our meals at the hotel – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – and every single one was delicious. The food is a wonderful mix of Sri Lankan flavors with some Western touches, fresh and full of taste. The setting is gorgeous and the staff are genuinely friendly, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a laid-back, beautiful spot to enjoy the south coast of Sri Lanka!

The hosts are absolutely lovely. They have a tuktuk, so you can be easily dropped off where you need to go, with better rates than PickMe. This was incredibly helpful, especially if you do the Rewaka turtle watch - they stayed the entire four hours waiting for us! (It is hard to know how long a turtle experience will take). We were grateful, because it was midnight by the time it finished, and may be difficult to get a tuktuk. They were very accommodating, and also took us into town when we asked the next day. The room is nice, and the shower is decent. Airconditioning and fan work well, and the breakfast is yum. The hostess is very welcoming. There is a lovely beach just across the road from the location. We brought our own snorkel gear and saw lots of fish! Most people go to the more popular beaches, so we had this beach to ourselves. Very clean, warm temperature, with clearer water than in Mirissa. The local fishermen were very helpful and showed us where to swim to best avoid the rocks. We were told by the hostess that two turtles like to frequent this beach, although we were not lucky enough to see them during our swim. Truly a very lovely stay.

Really one of the best hotels we ever stayed in. From the rooms, to the service to the hotel area with the pool - everything felt more like a 5-star-surrounding. The manager and the stuff are as helpful as it gets and fulfill wishes you didn't know you even hat. The view from the shower was amazing as well as the rest of the apartment. 10/10 - we would totally come again.

The cabana we stayed in was very cute and situated so close to the beach that we could hear the waves as we fell asleep. The staff were very friendly and the property was well maintained. We were only scheduled to stay one night, but we changed our booking after we arrived so we could have an extra night.

🌴 A Truly Unforgettable Stay! 🌅 I stayed at this beautiful villa with my family, and it was simply amazing from the moment we arrived! The villa itself was so peaceful and spacious,The atmosphere was calm, private, and perfect for a family getaway. Very nice place with stylish interior. Beautiful swimming pool, sports area. The hotel staff are very nice, friendly, always ready to help. The Hidden Garden is an oasis of calm. We were told it was a few minutes from the beach by going down a garden path and it really is. In the extensive hotel grounds you could not hear any noise from the beach bars and restaurants that dot the coast. The rooms were spotlessly clean and depending on the room you booked, had all amenities. The view from our veranda was really beautiful. The pool is fab. The staff were really friendly. They also do laundry and you can borrow a kayak to go around the lagoon that backs onto the Hotel. We saw a massive monitor lizard which was exciting! Tip-the address on booking .com is accurate for car travel. The address on Google only for on foot. I suggest you ring the Hotel to co-ordinate with your driver if you are coming by car. It is one of those places that is easy once you know!
