The medina was really nice to wander through and we liked...
The medina was really nice to wander through and we liked the fact that it went right down to the ocean. The murals on the walls made it unique and it was nice to discover new ones. The riad we stayed at was within the old walls of the medina. The area was a delight and was kept clean by a population who obviously took pride in where they lived. There were many old narrow (safe) streets to explore in the medina with a lot of shops to buy presents from. The proprietors were never 'pushy' and a good price could always be had with a bit of bargaining. Outside of the medina was the usual hustle and bustle of an Arab town seemingly run with the usual disorganised chaos of most Arab towns we've visited around the world. It is a holiday destination that caters for the local Rabat/Tangier crowd. The town is expanding not dissimilar to Spain and S France a couple of decades ago. The town beach is OK, but the gems are a 30 taxi ride away. The food along the main section is excellent and cheap. Very few serve alcohol but there is an off licence if you can find it. I have been many many times in the last 37 years and it never fails to impress, plenty to do for a long weekend, easily accessible from Tangiers by train or taxi (approx 200mdh), very safe, lovely people, new marina being built , probably best to stay outside the marina as it might be noisy at night, plenty of affordable accommodation in the area, great choice of eateries, shops and hammams, car not necessaryGuest review bymandySpain

Nice to walk around and close to everything. Everything looks quite new and clean in this Riad. Our room was quite bright, with a window to the outside, and airco which was nice as at night it can get chilly. Breakfast was ok. Maybe we were spoiled a bit being in Morocco for a few weeks already, but this was not the most extensive breakfast we have had.
