FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colourful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers a variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settling process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

A city with an European flair with excellent restaurants for all wallets and places to visit. Traveling in and around the city is very safe, affordable and easy with Uber. The V&A Waterfront is a must see for shopping, dining and evening cruises to enjoy the sunset. Visiting the wineries are also a must.

If you have clear weather, make sure you go up Table Mountain or hop on hop off bus. One goes through 4 Seasons in a day. Waterfront is fantastic. Cape Point beautiful. Feed the squirrels at the Company Gardens. They are so tame & gentle & eat right out your hand. Swim with Penquins at Boulder's or you can see plenty of them for nothing at Betty's Bay. Swim at The Strand. Wine farms all over & take a scenic drive up Chapman's Peak. Go on the big wheel. Go see whales at Hermanus. Scenic drives along the coastline. So much more to do plus take a sunset trip on a catamaran &&&&&

One of the uber guy was dishonest . The rest were kind. My host was perfect. Really really kind and helpful when it mattered most even when evidently, his kindness was actually an inconvenience to him and his business, but went the extra mile to ensure that i was ok.

My experience in Cape Town was overall good.

My experience in Cape Town was overall good. The weather was nice, food options were great, and nature was truly beautiful with stunning sea and mountain views. Camps Bay is a lovely area to stay, and I highly recommend visiting Table Mountain and Boulders Beach. Nightlife, however, was very disappointing compared to Dubai—clubs were boring with not a great crowd (I would rate it 2/10). On the positive side, Sea Point is also a good area to stay, with supermarkets and restaurants close by. For transport, the InDrive taxi app was very cheap and secure. Despite hearing concerns about safety, I never faced any issue, scam, or theft—even while going out late at night.

Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever visited. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes — from the iconic Table Mountain to stunning beaches and vineyards — the city feels like a natural wonder on its own. The food scene is incredible, with a mix of fresh local flavors, international influences, and some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. What really makes Cape Town special, though, are the people. They are warm, welcoming, and proud to share their rich and diverse cultures. Every corner of the city tells a story, whether through art, music, or history. It’s a destination where natural beauty, delicious cuisine, and cultural richness come together — truly unforgettable and worth experiencing at least once in a lifetime.

    Cape Town is beautiful.

Cape Town is beautiful. When one visits Cape Town, one must make sure to have clothes for all seasons because the weather changes lot. You can have all four seasons weather in one day. To see the best of Cape Town, one must hire a car.

The Onomo Waterfront Hotel is situated very close to the V&A Waterfront Cape Town, a bustling area full of restaurants, bars, and shops. It's also an ideal place to buy tickets for local attractions. I loved the Onomo Waterfront architectural style. I am not an expert, but it was a mixture of industrial and African aesthetics. Rooms were comfortable, the personnel were amazing, very helpful, and the breakfast was suitable also for vegetarians.

Prime location, with two hop on hop off bus stops just around the corner and the Cape Town ICC across the road. Also very close to the V&A Waterfront which the hotel offers a complimentary hourly shuttle to and back again until 22h30. The beds are comfortable, the hotel is clean and tastefully decorated. The old man playing the piano during the breakfast period was such a lovely touch.

The Hotel isn’t at the VA waterfront and is located on a main intersection in Cape Town and isn’t easy to navigate to using your own vehicle. Decor is tired and drab and needs an update Kitchen and breakfast staff friendly but the bar staff were surly and unwelcoming
