Lone Star Residence is newly built and furnished to exceptionally high standards. It is an inviting, spacious, hospitable place to stay with excellent facilities - kitchen especially but in truth, all rooms. Location - 15 mins taxi Palaly Int Airport; 5 mins drive Inuvil railway station; 10/15 mins drive Jaffna; 5 mins drive Chunnakam. The actual physical location is attractive in its serenity. Its located in a quiet lane on Manipay Road overlooking agricultural land owned/rented by smallholders. Noise and external interference is absolutely minimal.

I booked a homestay through Booking.com and had the most heartwarming experience staying there with my dad. From the moment we arrived, we felt like part of the family. The host, his wife, and their only son were incredibly kind and welcoming. They even cooked us a lovely meal, which made the stay feel even more special. The place was spotlessly clean, peaceful, and full of warmth. We never felt like guests—we felt like we were at home. Their kindness truly made our trip memorable. I still find myself missing the place and the people. I’m so grateful for this stay and would absolutely return. Thank you to Booking.com for helping us find such a gem.

The property is superbly put together. The lay out is really lovely with all the bedrooms ensuite and it is the first time that in our travel in Srilanka that we found a property with a lift, it is very convenient for elderly people. It was really confortable.

It was very smooth, The Manager was waiting for us when we arrived. The place was spotless, clean & comfortable. All the amenities were there & the place was neither far nor close to the city central so you could avoid the city noise yet enjoy the easy commute.

A very beautiful villa that has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard. We ended up staying here for a week because it was such a wonderful place to relax. The location is excellent for exploring the local area which is very beautiful and a welcome change of pace to the south of the island. We have been in Sri Lanka for 3 months and this was definitely the best accommodation we stayed at. We got regular messages from the host Kam checking everything was ok and if we needed anything. If your looking at exploring the Jaffna peninsula, I would highly recommend staying here.

Hello Ladies and Gentleman, I recently had the pleasure of staying at Berty's Cottage as a solo traveler, and I must say, I felt incredibly comfortable throughout my whole visit in Jaffna. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by a lovely young couple who offered me a delicious cup of tea, which was a delightful touch. Even the process of paying was feeling featherlight. During my stay, I was quite busy with various activities, but I always looked forward to returning to my room in the evenings. The beds + blankets were exceptionally comfortable, and the air conditioning made for a perfect sleeping environment. I slept very well each night! The hosts were incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant experience. They prepared a fantastic breakfast for me each morning, and even woke up early to accommodate my early check-out request. Their hospitality truly made a difference. I really can recommend Berty's Cottage to anyone looking for a cozy and family-like atmosphere. If you’re seeking a welcoming place to stay, this is definitely the travel - spot for you!     Berty and his wife are charming hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. Their cooking is absolutely delicious - a delight to get enjoyed. The rooms are spacious and very clean. I had left my medicines in Colombo and Berty took me I to the pharmacy to have the replaced. Their ho e is situated in a very quiet area and you wake to the sound of a variety of birds. A very enjoyable and comfortable stay and I will definitely stay there again when I next return to Jaffna

    Our stay at Berty’s Cottage was outstanding. Berty and Hilda are wonderful people really helpful with anything we needed, train, tuk tuk & tours before and after we arrived. Food was delicious as we requested genuine Sri Lankan and my husband got great cooking tips in the kitchen with dinner. They even packed our breakfast because we had a very early departure. The accommodation and their home is very clean and we felt welcome in all living areas. Thank you Berty and Hilda for a wonderful visit to Jaffna.

    Berty was a very amicable, courteous host in his home. Right from the start he helped in arranging pick up from the airport & a warm welcome at his place. Room was simple but quiet, clean and comfortable. Location excellent. Breakfast was fresh and well prepared. He also helped in organising tours around Jaffna and taxi service to Colombo. If you are looking for simple yet comfortable homestay in Jaffna, Berty Cottage is a gem of a place sure to satisfy most guests.

    We really liked Betty’s Cottage and the owners were really nice. They booked our bus from Colombo to Jaffna which was a huge help, and they waited up until 4 am for us to arrive. We had only booked the place for the following night so they charged us half a day. The breakfast offered was fine, nothing to rave about. The WiFi is really good! The hosts are also nice and very dedicated to making sure we got everything we needed.
