We had a lovely stay at the Apple Cider Lodge watching the tides moving in and out, eating farmfresh eggs for breakfast, sipping cider as a sundowner and sleeping in heavenly beds. The Lodge provided everything we needed and even more (our 2.5 yo was so happy about the toys). The surrounding offers many great spots to explore as beaches, regional parks, restaurants, shops, weekend markets and many more.

Beautiful property and what a stunning location, absolute gem and will return very soon as me and my partner loved everything about it. Clean, had everything you need and the views…. Wow ! Best of all were the hosts Vicki and Clint…. Salt of the earth people who went way above and beyond with us, they made our stay that little bit better than anywhere I’ve stayed. Friendly, welcoming and we even shared a drink together whilst chatting all things life. I’d urge anyone wanting a get away in Matakana and surrounding areas to book this place. Also they have the best little bunch of pugs and a stunning boxer that were so friendly and lovable

The host is excellent and super friendly. The stay was wonderful and quiet event tough we only had one night I can only recommend staying there. You have everything you need with coffee, tea and milk and we especially loved the tiny oven.

We LOVED this accommodation. What a lovely way to end our 5 week adventure. Chantal was a very friendly and accommodating host. The studio is so large and airy! Exceptionally clean!! Great mattress and bedding. Loved the outdoor space. We felt very welcome and comfortable. Great location for days at many beaches. Can’t say enough great things about this place. Oh and the kitchen-everything you would need. Dishwasher/oven/stove/full fridge all the supplies you would ever need. Bread, butter, milk, homemade jam, cookies, teas, yoghurt, wine. JUST FABULOUS. Well done, excellent space and design. We will return -Thanks for the visits Bertie!! Just WOW—oh and the many birds and wildlife and thanks for all the info on them-oh and a great shower and luxurious towels.

    Perfect breakfast left in our cottage that was adequate for the 3 days: artisan bread, gravlax preserves & healthy muesli & blue berries. We appreciated the absolute peace and quiet and the serene views out to see and bush. We appreciated being left alone to enjoy the private accommodation well away from the owners house. Our beach visits to Tawharanui park each afternoon a highlight.

    Loved it👌 our host’s Katherine and John were charming. it is a beautiful property. Despite the rain during most of our stay it was a very serene place to unplug and unwind in extremely peaceful surroundings. The brekkie provisions were great too!
