The location was great as well. The staff were really kind and helpful. We had a great time staying at this hotel specially after our hike. Would love to stay there again someday.

Ellen House Bed and Breakfast is located on the outskirts of Matlock, Derbyshire. There is free parking and free Wi-Fi access in all areas. Anne and John were very welcoming and friendly, offered detailed advice & stories on places to visit / to eat and showed a lot of interest in how our day went. The room and breakfast area are decorated stylishly. The breakfast is organized via a checklist order form. This way you can compose the full english to your desire or order one of John's specialities. The Eggs Benedict are delicious and the full english had some refined touches. Anne made sure we were lacking nothing. The whole experience was superb. This was a 2 day stopover on our way home but there is enough to do in the Peak District to warrant a longer stay. We enjoyed our visits to Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall very much.

On the edge of The Peak District, this modern, boutique hotel boasts stylish rooms with LED TVs and countryside views. The staff is fantastic. We booked expecting a simple stay and instead experience some of the most caring and well trained in our tour of London, Peak, Cotswold, and Cornwall. They were personable and knowledgeable. The food in the restaurant was very well prepared and they managed special requests without attitude or hesitation. We would recommend and stay again. The room was comfortable, clean and well presented. The reception was on point. It seemed to be popular with locals and we understand why.

Spotlessly clean and run by a charming host. If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, go elsewhere. But if you are in the mood for something different in a great location with all needs met, give this houseboat a try! There’s an easy to understand guide to the facilities on the boat. Included parking is right at the boat and directions to access are complete and simple. Nearby pubs and cafes. If you go, and you see owner Mark around the boats in the morning, talk to him! He is friendly with loads of stories and information and can tell you all about the boats. Our first visit to Sheffield, an interesting city with lots of history and many restaurants, pubs and historical sights. We hope to be back!

Where modern heritage meets a warm Derbyshire welcome. Oakhill Hotel is a beautiful Grade 2 Listed (Georgian style) house built by the Arkwright family in the mid 19th century, as a private family... Beautiful hotel and location. Cozy rooms with all the amenities. A beautiful deep porcelain tub to soak after a long day. Food in the restaurant was wonderful. You didn’t leave hungry ! Staff was amazing and attentive. Took our luggage to our room and personally checked us in and made sure we were comfortable. Beautiful gardens. Perfect for a getaway or special occasion. We were traveling and found it a relaxing break on our road trip.
