The staff were so kind and accommodating, and truly tried to go above and beyond for their guests. Every time we came back to the hotel we were greeted with an enthusiastic welcome back and ushered into the warmth and comfort of the reception area. Breakfast was exceptional and beautifully presented. The hotel also arranged for our luggage to be sent to our next destination which was extremely helpful as it meant we didn’t have to worry about storage lockers during our visit to nearby Shirakawa-go. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we’d be beyond delighted to come back.

Everything! The owners are so sweet! They gave us matcha tea when we arrived! The ryokan is stunning! Amazing decoration in every single place! We love the onsen! Everything Is extra clean and tidy! I told one of the owner (lady) it was really cold outside and when we get back to the room was blankets and the kettle ready to drink our tea! (In the room was before ready tea pot and cups). I forgot my necklace in the room and the owners send me a messenge but I was already in Tokyo for the next day take flight to get back home. They were amazing and send to me the necklace to Australia !

Situated at the heart of historic Takayama Old Town and just steps away from Takayama Jinya Morning Market, the traditional Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan offers personalised hospitality, hot spring baths... This was probably our favourite accommodation during our entire trip in Japan. Not only was takayama itself beautiful to travel to by train but the hospitality at Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan was amazing and I would definitely return here when I come to Takayama next. Would definitely recommend the traditional meal experience as well! They will also pick you up/drop you off at the train station as well for no extra cost!

Das Chaya Hotel liegt nur 40 m2 von der restaurierten Poststadt Magome-Juku in Edo entfernt und bietet einfache, traditionelle Zimmer mit Futonbetten und Tatami-Matten. Die Lage in Magome ist super und die Unterkunft bietet viel mehr als aufgrund der Beschreibung zu erwarten war. Alles ist sehr sauber und die Zimmer sind beheizbar. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Lage am Nakasendo Trail ist ebenfalls hervorragend.

Hida Takayama Hodakaso Yamano Iori is just a 3-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and a 10-minute walk from Old Town and Takayama Jinya and Miyagawa Morning Market. Amazing and super cosy friendly place!! Such caring stuff, you feel like a true Japanese experience with cozy environment!

Das Takayama Ouan wurde 2014 mit dem TripAdivsor Certificate of Excellence ausgezeichnet und bietet in allen Bereichen traditionelle japanische Motive und Tatami-Matten aus gewebtem Stroh. Die Unterkunft war wirklich perfekt. Das Onsen war der Hammer und die zusätzlichen Serviceleistungen wie die Rahmen am Abend und das Eis, sowie die Getränkebar waren super. Das Personal ist höflich und sehr hilfsbereit

Dieses Hotel genießt eine ideale Lage, 2 Gehminuten vom JR-Bahnhof Takayama und dem Busterminal Shirakawa-go entfernt. Freuen Sie sich auf natürliche Thermalbäder, die zum Entspannen einladen. The hotel had onsen with public baths. It was quite neat and clean. Excellent location near Jr station or bus station and a short 5-10 min walk across the river to the old takayama town with tourist things. The bathroom was small (but neat and clean) but we anyways instead used onsen to take bath. The breakfast was just decent and didn't live up to the good reviews we read on booking.com. Just outside the hotel, there is a small cafe run by an old Japanese lady. We loved our coffee and deserts there. Would recommend it if you crave good coffee after the breakfast buffet (it has machine coffee).

Die Unterkunft Honjin Hiranoya Annex begrüßt Sie in idealer Lage, nur wenige Schritte vom beliebten Gebäude Takayama Jinya und dem dortigen Morgenmarkt entfernt. The food and the location were both excellent. The rooftop baths were amazing too.
