Situato a 10 minuti a piedi dalla vivace zona di Kawaramachi, il Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura Urushitei offre sistemazioni in stile giapponese dal design tradizionale dotate di servizi moderni, un banco... The building itself was very beautiful and nicely decorated. The employees were very friendly and helpful and there was a nice area to sit and eat. There is a private bath that can be booked and costs a few yen, which was really nice to get into after a long day outside, we enjoyed it very much. The rooms are traditional, beautiful and kept exceptionally clean. There is a lot of space for belongings and luggage (though one must be careful not to hurt the tatami), a fridge, and a great bathroom which has everything one might need. Im very happy I got to experience sleeping on a traditional bed in a traditional room. I have to admit the mattress was a bit thin for my back so it wasn't too comfortable at first, my partner on the other hand thought its great so it really depends on preference. However, I asked if i can get an extra layer that I can put under to make it softer, and i got one! Afterwards i was sleeping like a baby, so if it seems a bit stiff at first ask for support :). We also got a lot of information on places in the area, including restaurants, everyone was doing their best to keep our stay as comfortable as possible. It truly is a great place and I have nothing I wish was different. The location is also great, close to the main "centre" and some public transport. It is a very good spot, quite relaxing and quiet considering its proximity to the famous streets. Walking down from Sannenzaka and the area, towards out hotel, is one of our very fond memories. A lot to do nearby, and great restaurants. Thank you for our stay, we had a wonderful time, and we hope we can be back sometime in the future.

Situato in una posizione ideale, a soli 10 minuti a piedi dall'iconico Tempio Kiyomizu-dera. La Guesthouse Soi propone varie sistemazioni, tra cui camere private in stile giapponese e dormitori. We loved the place. Very well placed, only a 5min walk from the Gion area and many temples. The owners are the nicest people, and gave us a lot of help on our trip. They also have a bike rental for 600Y per day which was very handy. The free breakfast they give is great and we also had the japanese breakfast one day which we loved. The room was spacious and very nice, with great air conditioning and nice futons. We also used the laundring service. We loved the place and highlt recommend it

The best hostel I stayed! The staff amazing and everyone were very friendly! They organize games nights and even had a Christmas party 🎄🎅🏽 There is a lot of information provided on the walls (like markets date and location, and recommendations) Super clean, comfortable and good value for money. I took a single room which had a sink which made getting ready so easy. The showers are on the first floor, and the towels are just next to them so you could take as many as you needed. The location- just next to Kyoto station, you can easily get there and get everywhere you need to.

Staying at Morizuya was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. This cozy, family-run ryokan radiates warmth and hospitality. Manager Hachisuka and his family do everything they can to make you feel at home, and our stay truly exceeded expectations. The ryokan is charming and traditional. We stayed in a spacious, comfortable tatami room with beautiful décor and a view of a peaceful garden. The room included a private toilet and sink, while bathing is done in their private onsen (yes, private — no need to bathe with others if that makes you uncomfortable). Morizuya provides yukata for men and women, sandals, bags, towels, and an onsen pass for the town’s seven public baths. Women can also choose a kimono for going out around town and shopping, while men can (and should!) relax in their yukata for this same purpose. I especially want to highlight how Manager Hachisuka truly went above and beyond. He’s not only an excellent photographer — taking beautiful photos of my fiancée and me among the cherry blossoms and guiding us to great photo spots — but also incredibly kind and attentive. He personally helped us with our schedule and drove us to the station early in the morning to ensure we caught our train on time. That level of care is something we’ll never forget. If you’re unsure where to stay, I strongly recommend Morizuya. We left with beautiful and unforgettable memories of this warm and authentic experience in Kinosaki. A few quick tips about the bath: There are two onsen inside the inn. From 7 AM to 3 PM, they’re public (men/women separated). From 3 PM to 11 PM they become private — no reservation needed. If the door’s unlocked, it’s available. Go in, lock the door behind you and enjoy. You’re welcome to bathe with your family or partner. Be sure to shower and clean yourself before entering the bath. Walking around town in your yukata(or kimono) is part of the charm, so don’t be shy — it’s all part of the experience.
