The staff was excellent, kind and helpful at all times, rooms were clean and tidy, ours had an amazing view of the lake. You can use most of the facilities for free with some additional ones having a fee. We chose the included dinner and breakfast option, dinner was an amazing experience full of flavors and textures we were not used but definitely liked. Breakfast was pretty good, buffet style, but with both Japanese and western options. In terms of location, I think it’s really good depending on what you want to visit. It is just in front of the lake, and has the red line (i think) bus stop right in front of it, which we used to get there from the train station and to get to other tourist spots around the lake. There’s a lawson just outside, the boat ride in the lake and the panoramic ropeway are also just a few minutes walk away which was very convenient.

A 7-minute walk from Lake Kawaguchi, the 2-person cottages at Ururun have a quaint European charm and offer a spa bath with Mount Fuji views. Sleeping arrangements are Japanese-style, with futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. Parking is free. We loved this accommodation and it was perfect for our family of 5. The host was so helpful and provided us with a very useful map of the area. The accommodation was clean and well thought out- we even had a hairdryer and useful items in the kitchen. The bedding was cozy, heating was good and I slept really well here. The view of Mount Fuji is incredible. We used a car to get around the area, as advised, and this worked well for us. Overall we would definitely recommend this accommodation and we would love to return. Wish we could have stayed here for longer!

I think we must have had the best room in the hotel which was a corner large tatami room with both lake and Mount Fuji views. So comfortable and just stunning views we could have stayed here for ages and would love to go back. The breakfast was traditional and served by the most charming ladies. The reception staff were very obliging. The hotel is a little old and shabby in places but that is because it is original and has history - don't come if you're expecting modern lux. Thank you for our wonderful stay.
