The Galle Fort Hotel began life as an 18th Century Dutch villa and along the way has taken many guises from RAF barracks, post office, bakery, lapidary and in the recent past a pitch for the Fort’s... From the moment we arrived, the reception team greeted us with genuine warmth and professionalism, making us feel instantly at home. The Library Room was an absolute delight—elegantly furnished with plush seating, rich wood accents, and a curated collection of books. On the morning, we were treated to an exceptional breakfast spread, offering a diverse array of delicious options.

This was our second stop upon arrival in Sri Lanka, after a night and day in Colombo. It has been my and my daughter's top favorite hotel and stay, because mainly of its colonial and historical charm. A wonderful place, led by a female manager, which is to be underlined, a very nice lady. The staff is local, the attention to detail as well (!), the food and breakfast are super copious, generous and fresh, there is a nice à la carte menu, and the pool is wonderful. My daughter enjoyed it! We were lucky to be and visit Galle during the week-end, so we didn't feel the over-touristic crowd and atmosphere, since many Sri Lankan were strolling along the city walls, visiting. This is definitely a very touristic spot, the many shops attest this, but there are a few very nice and niche places. Stay min 2 nights, and if you can and want you may tour the nearby beaches and towns and wildlife reserves from there, this is possible. We've also enjoyed our train ride from Colombo to Galle, which is not too long and absolutely wonderful in the lush coastline greenery. We loved our room, its setup, the geometry and decoration of the hotel, the beautiful purple lotus flowers and the local touches everywhere. Chic. It pleased my eye every day!

Good location, clean and big room, also clean bathroom. Price was also cheap - around 25euros a night.

La struttura è molto bella, le camere ampie, spaziose e pulite. Ottima la posizione, a 3 dall’ingresso del forte e 10 minuti a piedi dalla stazione dei treni.

La Villa Amma Erna offre una piscina all'aperto e la connessione internet gratuita. Vanta interni in stile contemporaneo ed eleganti camere con ventilatore. The views from the property were absolutely amazing! We could just hang out by the pool in the morning and watch the peacock and monkeys fool around which was a blast. The room was perfect with high ceilings, an abundance of natural sunlight (can shade if you want), and as clean as can be. The host and staff couldn’t have been more kind! They helped arrange rides, provided local dining options, activities to consider…pretty much you name it! The breakfast spread we had in the morning was, without question, the best we had during our trip! We couldn’t have been happier with the little time we were able to have there & we owe it all to the amazing people running it!!! ☺️

The best place we have stayed during our travels throughout the world. Beautiful and comfortable room with own terrace, nice pool, lovely breakfast and attentive staff. Own part of a beach area with hammocks and beach chairs (the actual beach is not private, but only used by a few). Highly recommended

Situato sulla spiaggia di Hikkaduwa, il Roman Beach offre ampie camere climatizzate con connessione Wi-Fi gratuita, alti soffitti e vista sul mare, oltre a una piscina all'aperto, una spiaggia privata... La colazione era ottima e anche la cena a base di pesce

Offering spacious accommodation, it has an outdoor pool and restaurant. é stata una bellissima esperienza! La posizione sulla spiaggia permette di stare tranquilli e di godere della bellezza della spiaggia, ma al tempo stesso lo staff, la suite, il cibo, i drink e la pulizia del posto hanno contribuito al piacevole soggiorno. Siamo stati qui in bassa stagione, periodo in cui nella cittadina non c'è moltissimo da fare, ma la struttura aveva tutto quello che serviva per poter passare delle piacevoli giornate!
