Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Casa das Proteas is located at Estrada das Covas nº8, São Jorge, Madeira Island, 50 km from Funchal. The location is excellent as a starting point for several hikes. Teresa is a very welcoming person. We like our stay a lot. Bed is very comfortable. The room and facilities are very clean. Breakfast is just great and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Highly recommended.

I liked how central it is to go to the main city and departures to all the attractions. And the staff, the staff was superb. All staff extremely friendly. Nice rooftop pool and bar/lounge. Rooms have everything you need. Left before breakfast but got a breakfast box that had more food than I could eat. Free spa admission with a steam room and Turkish bath complimentary. Nice restaurant and ambiance throughout the hotel. Highly recommended.
