Santa Bárbara Eco-Beach Resort is located in Ribeira Grande, north coast of São Miguel Island. Oh, I am in love with this place: the room, surrounding area, service, food - all were perfect. We stayed in the room with the pool. It was cold to swim, obviously, but nice to look at. The view on the ocean and mountains is breathtaking. Sunrise paints your room in different colors, tiny birds play and sing on the grass in front of the house every morning. Perfect. And they prepared special tea ritual every evening for us.

The 4-star Octant Furnas is located in São Miguel Island, in Vale das Furnas, site of the largest concentration of thermal waters in Europe. One of the best hotels we’ve been to, recently: - Helpful, welcoming and smiling staff, with several little attentions during our stay - Excellent breakfast and the evening restaurant is good too. You have to try their “Ofyr” experience, it’s an amazing barbecue menu. - Comfortable room with very silent AC - Very good location - Amazing 24/7 spa experience

In the heart of Ponta Delgada, this hotel features a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, mountains and the city. The marina can be found 500 metres away. The staff are absolutely lovely and so friendly.. they speak English well and try to accommodate all your requirements. they had a corkscrew and wine glasses when needed too! the breakfast is basic, no hot food but all fresh, ham, cheese, bread, rolls, pineapple, melon, cakes, yogurt, cereal and freshly squeezed orange juice, maracujá and red fruits juice, coffee and tea. The twin room had a bath and powerful hot shower, a bidet, big balcony with a side view of the sea and city, table and chairs. decor is dated and basic but you're gonna spend most of your time exploring the beautiful island! The hotel is kinda dated and smells like an old hotel but it's pleasant. they put up Xmas trees and decor in reception. so nice. Also there's access to a roof terrace with nice views of the sea, hills and city, which most hotels won't have location is great, close to everything in the centre, just 5-10mins walk

MS Vila Nova is centrally located in Ponta Delgada, 1 km from the Convento da Esperança. The hotel features an outdoor pool. My Story Hotel Vila Nova’s guest rooms are decorated in blue and grey... I absolutely loved everything about this hotel! It's quite small and has a cosy feel about it. The staff are very friendly and professional. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean and the breakfast was absolutely delicious - 10 euros for an all you can eat extravaganza with all the trimmings. I also liked that they provided allergy information with the breads (I have a nut allergy). It's a short ride from the airport (the taxi cost us 12 euros) and has an outdoor swimming pool and a nice shared lounge area.

We had an incredible stay at Pico do Refúgio, enjoying the unique experience of being the only guests for the week in this charming former tea factory. The location, atmosphere, fireplace, and cozy interior truly made our trip special. It was such a pleasure to return after a busy day to a place that felt like home. Ana was a fantastic host, and the service was exceptional. The breakfasts were varied and delicious, and after a couple of delayed flights, we were warmly welcomed with appetizers upon arrival. We especially appreciated the privacy and peacefulness of the place, as well as the stunning surroundings, including Santa Bárbara Beach and Lagoa do Fogo. Simply amazing!

The colourful Vintage Place - Azorean Guest House is located in S. Miguel Island, within a 5-minute walk from the historical Ponta Delgada centre. Ideal place for a short stay, e.g. on the first or last day when coming from or heading to the airport. It is just a few minutes from the airport and it would actually be possible to walk there. Taxi reservation for our early morning flight was also flawless. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety.

This place was perfect to stay the first few nights in Sao Miguel. It had everything you need- comfy bed, separate bathroom and a equipped kitchen. I stayed in a single room the first night and then my friends and I shared a room with three single beds and attached bathroom. Parking can be tricky- the streets are narrow but we did not have any problems finding spots near the lodge. Also, you will hear planes overhead- this is close to the airport so it makes it convenient in that way but if you don't want that noise, you will want to stay farther away from the airport.
