Nice building tastefully restored in a delightful square. All close (market, many restaurants and shops, pharmacy, etc). Bright, fully equipped, quiet apartment (excellent fixtures) with closed windows. We had a great time, I recommend it and will be back. Impeccable staff, perfect check in and checkout.

Everything was perfect. The hotel is simply exeptional and outstanding. We chose it originally due to the best location but the hotel itself exeeded all of our expectations. Every single detail is carefully thought. The hotel would deserve almost 5 star rating because its service, high quality breakfast (e.g., chef was preparing warm dishes, waitresses were taking care of serving drinks), afternoon buffet with amazing variety of food just to mention examples. The english-speaking staff was professional and considerate. Beautiful interior was perfectly matching the original style of the house (also excellent sustainability with materials). There were many convenient and comfy sitting areas around the hotel. The room and the whole hotel was spotless and the cleaning was extremely careful. The hotel offered bathrobe, slippers, good quality shampoo, conditioner etc as well as all possible amenities one could imagine (toothbrush etc). The bed-linen and towels were quality ones. In the room there were a kettle and a Nespresso coffee-machine as well as complimentary water upon arrival. Even though the hotel is located in a lively street and we had balcons facing streets (large windows which usually correspond to a noisy room) it was very quiet. A modern sound-proof window technique had been applied. Moreover, Air-conditioning functioned well and the room was nicely warm for the time of the year. We would say that the hotel is among the top three of our favorites globally (We have stayed in hundrends of hotels). When again in Madrid we will choose this hotel again!

1. Staff. The girl on reception was super friendly and helpful. 2. Cleanliness. I’m very strict about the cleanliness of the hotels, but Calamo Guesthouse is exceptionally clean. 3. Warmness. The heating was working great, and despite the cold weather in November, we were very comfortable in our room. 4. Location. The hotel is in the heart of Madrid and near the metro stations. Also, the Prato museum is in 10 minutes by foot! 5. Breakfast. Hotel will give you vouchers for the three caries located in 60 metres near the hotel. I recommend go to Casa d Diego, they have the tastiest breakfast and nice service. And I don’t recommend Brown Bear, because it is too crowded. I will definitely return to this hotel!

The location is central, close to all places to visit. The staff, especially Marina were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is plentiful and freshly made and I would recommend to have it organised with the booking. The place is very clean and if you wish you could cook yourself -there are the facilities to do so, but there is plenty of choice of places to eat around.

This place is a gem. Located walking distance to the best spots in Madrid, the staff is super accommodating, the room was impeccable and the extra coffee, fruit and treats was a great add-on. The bed was very comfortable, the room has aircon/heat system that can be managed from the room and the razor, toothbrush and paste were great to have. I recommend this for any two travellers who want to stay in a great place!
