Our hosts went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, offering advice on places of interest and hikes, engaging in interesting conversations, and adding a personal touch to our stay. The location is beautiful, with idyllic scenery, a stunning river right next to the camp, and a lovely Spring Garden you can visit next door. The camp was set up based on our preferences, ensuring that our needs were met even before we checked in. While it is still camping, the camp is both comfortable and clean, and the wonderful stargazing at night adds to the experience. I highly recommend Mountain Camp at Mesilau to anyone seeking a unique, and for me, nostalgic experience. Whether you're a nature lover or just looking to take a break from the fast-paced city life, the Mountain Camp ticks all the boxes.

2 Separate Rooms (1 Queen size bed, 1 Twin bed), Air-conditioned & fan, Separate indoor bathroom (hot shower) & toilet, Forest swing, Private infinity pool, Outdoor shower, Outdoor kitchen. We were quite skeptical when booking this hotel due to other reviews but man, we’re glad we did. From the beginning, the reception staff was so warm and kind. When checking in they showed us that there is a bat residing at our cottage and kindly asked us not to bother it which was great as in the middle of the jungle you are the guest. Then we headed to the restaurant where you are asked to leave your shoes outside which is giving the area a cozy and familiar vibe. Once in the restaurant, you are on a wooden deck surrounded by jungle, trees with birds & squirrels, frangipani trees and a scenic view and an even better feeling to be in such an amazing place. The food was the best I had in 2 weeks - a base of asian with touches of european, just perfect. The room was what I feared most as accomodations in the jungle is usually filled with bugs. But we had absolutely no problem - maybe a few ants in the bath but that’s it. We had mosquito spray in the room - sprayed the room before dinner just as a prevention and it was perfect. Bedsheets, bathroom, all clean. And the view from the balcony - priceless. Our cottage was not the newest but they are actively working on the construction so the place is just going to get better and better. Also, 800 m from the urangutan and sun bears centers - a lovely 10 minutes walk. We highly reccommend.

Syameen's Glamping Dome - Queen Bed si trova a Kampong Kundassan. Avrete a disposizione un balcone e una terrazza. The Mt Kinabalu view from our room was amazing! The staff was amazing, I lost my phone but got it back! Couldn't thank enough to the lady who found and kept my phone! The road going inside to the homestay is quite narrow and rocky. But you can park inside close to the homestay. The location of the homestay is quite close to the town (around 15-20mins), easy to commute in and out. The toilet is outside your room, not a sharing toilet. However, quite scary to go out in the middle of the night 😅
