From the moment we met Larbi there was an instant connection. His welcoming warmth made us feel at home. We picked him up and drove out to his camp not knowing what to expect. We were remote, away from the tours, with waves of golden sand at our feet. After tea, Beth and I walked the dunes to watch a lovely sunset. After a delicious tagine, we were surprised with a full moon rising and a sky of stars. The quiet was deafening, then broken with Berber rhythms from Larbi, his brother Nayim and friend Bryham. We danced by the fire and then shared life stories. We now have a new desert family.

Absolutely stunning what these young guys managed to build there in the desert. Luxurious and very clean tents, beautifully decorated with nice carpets and cushions. They even managed to build a fully functioning private toilet, sink with running water and shower inside the tents. Mohammed, his brother and friends run the camp and have been fantastic hosts, very friendly, kind and funny. For dinner we had a wonderful meal of delicious zaalouk and other freshly made salads, the best beef tajine we have ever tasted and a lovely dessert. Breakfast the next day was also excellent. It was the perfect opportunity to enjoy and experience the desert, which in itself was breathtakingly sensational.

Die Zimmer sind 10 m² groß. Die Unterkunft Authentique berber Camp ist gelegen in M’hamid El Ghizlane und bietet eine Terrasse, ein Restaurant und einen direkten Zugang zur Skipiste. Super authentisches Camp, familiengeführt und echt! Tolle Gespräche unter dem Sternenhimmel! :)

Uns hat der Blick in die Sand Dünen besonders gefallen und das authentische Campen ohne viel Schick Schack. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich zu Hause. Lecker essen in ordentlichen Portionen mit Lagerfeuer und typischer Berber Musik unter Sternenhimmel. Die Landschaft ist traumhaft und man kann durch den Anfang der Sahara wandern oder eine Cameltour machen. Wenn man tiefer in die Wüste möchte kommt man nicht daran vorbei ein 4*4 zu nehmen mit einem Guide. Uns hat es allerdings genügt nach langer Anreise die Zeit am Anfang der Sahara zu verbringen. Die Dünen sind auch hoch und man kann sich runterkugeln lassen. Im Februar waren wir alleine im Camp und um uns herum war es ruhig und leer so hatten wir ein traumhaftes Wüsten Erlebnis.

Die Wohneinheit ist mit 4 Betten ausgestattet. Die Unterkunft Citadelle Gorges hat eine Gemeinschaftslounge, eine Terrasse, eine Bar und Massageservices in Ait Ben Ali. Great location, a very welcoming staff and woke up to beautiful views!

Dawood and Hicham have been so nice with us, helped us in any way possible, from letting us cook to use the washing machine. Plus the breakfast was 10/10! Living in Morocco means that whenever I travel around I only look for authentic places. Dawoods place is one of them! Thank you Dawood, you are such a good host!

Unsere zwei Nächte im Chegaga Berber Camp waren ein unvergessiches Erlebnis. Neben den Spaziergängen in den Dünen kann man auch Sandboarden und Ausflüge mit den Kamelen machen. Auch das Essen war äusserst lecker.
