Built in 1857, this guest house started life as a Royal Bank of Scotland building. Very central. Host very friendly, room large, good breakfast, with juke box In dining room!

Sonny could not have done more to make sure our stay was perfect. He was/is an excellent host and it was lovely to hear the story of how his family came to own the hotel. The building is beautiful, the rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds, the dining area was bright and open, the food was excellent and all the staff were 1st class.

Great atmosphere in the bar and friendly locals to chat to. Food was excellent. Much nicer than staying in an impersonal hotel chain. Great base to explore the Scottish borders.
