Ideally located just a 10-minute walk from the iconic Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Guesthouse Soi offers various rooms including private Japanese-style rooms and dormitory rooms. Wonderful hostel with thoughtful touches and delicious breakfast. Staff went above and beyond to help and make our stay comfortable, even finding and accompanying me to a clinic to help translate when I needed to see a doctor. I am so grateful for their hospitality!

Upon our arrival, she offered us a lot of resources to navigate around and gave us tips and suggestions on what to visit. We've followed the recommandations and were very pleased with our stay. Additionally, the whole place was very clean and smelled nice.

Staying here truly feels like living in Japan, not just like staying in a hotel. If you want to avoid crowded places while still having good connections, this is the perfect place to be.

Location is in a residential area, making it a quiet respite after a whole day of sightseeing, while still being conveniently close to the center. Breakfast was also tasty and kindly brought into the room daily. Emiko-san and her family were very welcoming and accommodating. She even gave me a ride to Kyoto Station on my last day and always checked on me daily to see how I was. Very kind family. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit!

Toni was an excellent host - welcoming, approachable and knowledgeable about Kyoto's history, places of interest and restaurants. The hostel was so beautifully furnished and designed in a traditional Japanese style, which will feature well in anyone's social media post. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Certainly, this place is up there to be the best accommodation that I have stayed in.
