The owner was super welcoming and friendly! He even gave us a gift (a painting he made himself!) just before we departed. The Guest House itself was very unique and traditional. It was comfortable with heaters around the house to keep you warm, and a cute cat to roaming about.

We highly recommend Keramiek Arita for a cosy and unique experience in a beautiful guesthouse! We visited in December and stayed in the Japanese-styled room, which was gorgeous and spacious. The shared bathrooms were clean, the living room (with huge christmas tree) was cosy, and the free parking lot in the frontyard was convenient. Even though old Japanese houses get quite cold in the winter, we were warm and comfortable thanks to the build-in heating in our room. Keramiek Arita is owned by Hanneke, who is the most welcoming and kind host. She has extensive knowledge of Arita and Kyushu, knows the history of the area and has great recommendations on what to visit and where to eat. Don’t miss out on the excellent and affordable yakitori restaurant 5 min walking from the guesthouse. Our stay was perfect and we wish we could’ve stayed longer. Thanks to Hanneke for making us feel at home in her guesthouse. We’ll definitely come back here in the future!

AKARIYA Home se află în Karatsu, la aproximativ 4 minute de mers pe jos de Plaja Nishinohama și la 47 km de Fukuoka Yafuoku! Dome. I wish we had stayed here longer! Very pleasant house, the room was nice, beds were clean and comfortable, and the shower was large. The kitchen was clean and well equipped, and we cooked dinner there. Ask the owner about the artwork inside the house! She also made several recommendations for places to go, landmarks and a cafe to visit. We went to some of these and are glad we did! She also assisted with a translation issue to help make a doctors appointment, and generally was just so welcoming. Other residents were very friendly and we enjoyed chatting.

Cosy clean accommodation above a cute cafe/pottery shop - conveniently near to the station. It was better in real life than the photos! Super spacious too. Takashi-san was so friendly and warm - even sending us off with little gifts the next day. (PS: all the bakes at the cafe are homemade) We enjoyed our stay so much we didn't want to leave!

The location was very convenient—just a short walk from the train station. The common areas were spotless and well-equipped, making the stay even more comfortable.
