It is set less than 1 km from Shingu Castle Ruins Park and provides a shared kitchen. The guest house offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Everything. The interiors, everything is so clean. He also has a lot of free stuff like the shave ice which we thoroughly enjoyed, the bath was amazing the whole place is an old Japanese house with modern fittings inside. We really enjoyed our stayed here. We will definitely come back here. The staff was amazing and really helpful. It is also close to the shrine.

There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Tokei Shrine is 35 km from the guest house and Shirahama Art Museum is 41 km away. This was the most wonderful stay I have experienced. I stayed here whilst I did the Kumano Kodo. I loved the style of the building. The location was great for the walk itself as a half way point. You feel exhausted after that first day and this is a great place to stay to rest and recoup. The welcome drink was very welcomed and we enjoyed it in the lovely garden. The room its self was plush and so comfortable. Hitomi and Omry did everything to make this the most comfortable and enjoyable stay. I don’t even know where to start with the meal, you must book the dinner, breakfast and lunch. It was definitely at the maximum end of my budget to do this but I will never forget the experience. Me and my friend shared a 5 course dinner, all courses were oishi (delicious) and so perfectly presented. Even now 2 months later I can remember the dinner and the flavours and how it made me feel. The packed lunch the next day was perfect fuel for the walk. Great shower to rinse off from the day as well and lovely living room area.

Shingu
Located in Shingu, 400 metres from Kamikura Shrine, 長徳寺宿坊 Temple Hotel has a garden, private parking and rooms with free WiFi access. The property is set 700 metres from Kumano Hayatama Taisha, less than 1 km from Shingu Castle Ruins Park and 13 km from Fudarakusanji Temple. The guest house features family rooms. The Temple Hotel is perhaps a bit of a misnomer. There are lots of temples in the area, which is a lovely traditional residential area, plenty small restaurants, and it's a short pleasant walk to Kumano Hayatama Taisha, one of the grand Kumano shrines. The guest accommodation, just two rooms, is in a rather drab road-facing building, but the rooms are huge, have a kitchenette and huge amounts of free alcohol included. The hotel is, in fact, run by the monks of the temple on the same compound, and the temple is lovely and free to visit, but the accommodation is modern. What's also good is that the bus stop for the Kumano Kodo sites is less than 100m from the hotel. I paid 51 Euro for one night, pretty okay given my relatively late booking, the size of the room and the amenities and tourist-friendly location. It can be a bit hard to find, as there are many temples in the area. The entrance is from the main road, and there is an okonomiyaki place right by the entrance. It is also good to inform the staff when you will be arriving, as the staff do work at the temple and there is no formal reception desk.

The guest house features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. what a great little place. If you have a small group, the 4 ppl room on the 3rd floor is perfect. The place has lots of great info in multiple languages and the affiliated izakaya was the perfect place to go for dinner.
Hongu
Situated in Hongu, 14 km from Hosshinmon Oji Shrine and 21 km from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art, Guest House Takiyoshi offers free WiFi and air conditioning. It is set 26 km from Kumanoshi Kiwakozan Museum and features a lift. Shingu Castle Ruins Park is 37 km away and Fudarakusanji Temple is 47 km from the ryokan. This hotel is run by the kindest couple, and I’m still thinking about how good dinner and breakfast were. Some of the best meals of my trip! You can also order lunch for the trail. The onsen was wonderful after a long day hiking. Room was on the 3rd floor and very quiet, it was compact and simple, very clean, with everything you might need, including yukatas for dinner and towels for the onsen. Shared toilets and sinks in the hall were never busy; there are two communal showers inside the onsen. I asked about laundry and they took mine and washed it for me within a few hours! The bus stop to Shingu or Hongu was a one-minute walk from the hotel. Yunomine Onsen was such a unique town, I feel lucky to have stayed here and enjoyed such great hospitality!

The room is nice and big and the jacuzzi was wonderful! Wish we could have stayed longer!
Shirahama Onsen, Shirahama
ゲストハウス三軒家, a property with a garden and a shared lounge, is set in Shirahama, less than 1 km from Ezura Beach, a 14-minute walk from Shirahama Art Museum, as well as 2.9 km from Kishu Museum of Art. This guest house offers free private parking, a shared kitchen and free WiFi. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. The owners are very sweet, welcoming people. The house is splendid, the room is cozy and spacious, the conditioner is working. We had a good night's sleep. Surprisingly cheap for such a good place and a last minute reservation. Went to a nearby yakiniku place (Yakiniku ichi, 2 min walk from the property), wasn't able to stop thinking about it for the past week, one of the best meals I've ever had. In the morning we went to the cafe the owners run (Quaith, キース) and had delicious cheese and bacon toasts for breakfast. If I ever go to Shirahama again will definitely stop there again.

- Great location for the Kumano Kodo - Ike and his wife were great hosts, served us a delicious Okonomiyaki dinner and packed lunch for the trek. - Clean room and facilities
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This traditional Japanese house is very well looked after and is in a great location, and within walking distance of two onsen. Manabu is a great host, even delivering handmade rice balls each morning. We also ate at his restaurant which was very good. Highly recommended.
Great location across from train/bus station. Quiet, I think because it was a holiday, few people in the hostel, and downstairs bar was closed. Comfortable bed. Clean. Juan checked us in, very friendly, but no staff around after 4pm.
Generously looked after by our wonderful host Ike at this homely guesthouse. Very clean, comfortable and nice to eat dinner with other guests. Great location for Kumano Kodo walk.
Perfect location directly opposite the train station. Quiet, clean room perfect for a one night stay after finishing our Kumano Kodo hike at Nachi falls. Very good value for money. The hostel has an onsen bath but we didn't use it. We had dinner at the hostel owner's brother's tuna restaurant next door which was really delicious and cheap considering it was high-quality food.
Tommy Guest House is one of the few guesthouses in Koyasan and certainly the best. Our room was very well equipped as described and quite big. Everything was extremely clean, there were clean towels, new water and tea on the second day. The guesthouse is just a few steps away from the bus stop in the center of Koyasan. Tommy is such a warm and courteous host. The contact before our stay was always quick and super nice. A clear recommendation!
Great guest house, big rooms. very clean. the shared bathrooms were comfortable and very clean. Great host who gave a lot of advice and help. clear communication beforehand to arrive there
The nicest host, thank you so much !. The guesthouse is perfectly clean and furnished with taste. It is quiet and you sleep very well ! Hope to come back one day !
Very helpful, thoughtful, and friendly host. The apartment was very clean. The host clearly paid attention to all details when designing the guest house, rooms, and facilities. Great location close to a bus stop, a convenient store, and good restaurants. Breakfast was nice.
I slept in the dorm, a new experience! It was quiet all night, and enough room in the capsule. Clean and nice showet. Nice staff. The hostel is right by the train station so it was very convenient as I was taking the train early the next morning. I came from Nachi (Kumano Kodo) and the bus stopped right outside the hotel. Cheap, nice hostel if you need a place to sleep in Katsuura.
