La Sirenita is an amazing place to stay. It is a hidden gem right on the lake. It is very peaceful with the most beautiful sunsets on the island and a great and affordable bar just next door - take a walk on the beach. It is a simple accommodation with all the basics you need. If you love nature, camping and being surrounded by animals - this is the place for you. We especially loved Moka, the dog who will follow you around and provide loads of protection. The staff were so helpful, the breakfasts were delicious and very reasonably priced. It was so affordable! I highly recommend and can't wait to go back!

Rafa is an excellent host, always ready to help with anything you need. We highly recommend it!

The location is incredibly nice, the view with the Conception Vulcano is stunning , relaxing in the hamac during the evening and watching the stars on the sky is amazing. The rooms are nice and They are cleaning the room every single day ,changing the bed and towels, that is definitely a plus . Jose , the owner, is really helpful and great, will inform you about everything , tours, transport , what to do and visit. The kitchen is large and well equipped, good organisation. Go for it and you will enjoy it !!

This was easily one of the best hostels if have stayed at. The host family is extremly welcoming and organizes everything you could want (taxi, bikerental, kayaktour) at good prices. The room was cleaned every day and we were given fresh towels daily as well. The breakfast (can only recommend adding that) is delicious and filling. There was a hiccup with the communication via booking.com (it had overbooked the room and when we got there a solution was already provided. I cannot overstate how nice and generous the hostess Odelba and her family was. Jutst thank you for making our stay this wonderful!

We LOVED Red Pepper! We originally booked for 10 days and ended up staying for 20. Mark and Mariken were wonderful, and were so generous with their time and knowledge of the area. We loved having the peace and quiet of our private rooftop. After travelling for 8 months, Red Pepper was the first place we extended our stay—twice! The Monday curry and Wednesday noodles can’t be beat. We cooked almost all of our meals except Monday and Wednesdays because we loved Marks cooking so much. We opted to rent an additional fan to help keep us cool at night. It’s about a 15 minute walk to Finca, where you can rent boards and surf the Popoyo break, and about 25min to Beginners Bay. We enjoyed the walk as a warm-up for surfing!

A really nice place one minute walk to a super beautiful beach connected to the property by stairs. The rooms are cosy with a private bathroom. Nicely equiped shared kitchen. There is also a restaurant and a huge terrace with view over the lake and stunning sunsets. Hammocks to chill and cold Toñas to enjoy. I booked for one night but wil stay a few more days. Nice local area with small shops and restaurants in walking distance. Lots of nature and San Ramón waterfal and Maderas volcano both close by. Good WiFi & friendly staff.

I received a warm welcome from a very nice lady and two cute kids. The room was just what I needed, a comfortable bed, a nice bathroom with a shower, and a strong fan at a fantastic price! I slept like a baby. Horizonte is on an alley street very close to the beach, and all bars and restaurants, so it was the perfect location - on a quiet street, but close to all of the action. The whole family was very warm and engaging. I will stay again.
