We originally booked for three days but ended up extending for another three because we loved it so much. JJ and his family/staff are all very kind and friendly — they made us feel so at home in their beautiful slice of the world. Elephantine Island is very relaxed and has a lovely local feel (a very nice change from Aswan city and the rest of Egypt!). That said, you’re only a two-minute ferry from the mainland which was super easy and we went in most nights for dinner. We booked a tour to Abu Simbel through JJ which saved us from having to think about logistics of getting there ourselves 🙌🏼 we ended up being the first group there for the day so got some amazing photos and we’re back in the guesthouse by 1pm. Also the included breakfast was incredibly generous. Everyday we had fresh juice, eggs, bread, salad, cheese, fruit salad, jam & honey. Honestly amazing value and cooked with love. Plus the view from the rooftop (where breakfast is served) is beautiful, looking over the Nile. Our room also had an amazing view of the river. Honestly I can’t rave enough about this place. We feel so happy to have stumbled upon JJ Guesthouse and are leaving with some very special memories ✨🩷

They helped me get a trip to Abu Simbel and even packaged me a breakfast for it, because the trip started so early. The room was very quiet, peaceful and clean.

The staff were incredibly warm and friendly, always ready to help and share information about the island and its history. Their hospitality made my trip even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was that the hotel allowed me to store my luggage overnight for free, which was very convenient and thoughtful. The room was also very clean and comfortable, meeting all my expectations.

Na samym początku zostaliśmy bardzo miło powitani przez Właściciela. Pokoje są przestronne, bardzo czyste. Hotel oferuje nie tylko pyszne śniadania ale również pyszny obiad i kolację w dobrej cenie. Obsługa jest na najwyższym poziomie i do dyspozycji gości w każdym momencie. Z przyjemnością polecam to miejsce każdemu.

The house including common areas and the room was very nice, clean, and cozy. Location is just perfect with beautiful view for the corso and the town. The ferry service was excellent, easy to use. Mohammed was very nice, he offered us trips that were well organized, like for example to Abu Simbel and to Philae Temple. The island has a great atmosphere with local shops and restaurants. Better to stay here than on the other side of the river. The Nubian houses were beautiful. We felt the people’s hospitality. If any would like to be immerse in the local culture, this place is perfect for it. We arrived as a couple and we only had great experiences.

Przede wszystkim jest tu niezawodne WiFi dostępne w każdym z pokoi Airkela. Gospodarz któremu można zaufać komunikuje się przez WhatsApp i w każdej chwili jest dostępny. Mieliśmy ułożony swój plan zwiedzania, ale zdecydowaliśmy się na zrealizowanie planu zaproponowanego przez naszego gospodarza. Korzystaliśmy też z łódek i kierowców które nam polecił. Wszystko było jasne, zgodne z ustalonymi z góry cenami. W Airkela przez cały czas dostępny byl ktoś z persolenu. Dbał o to czy mamy czyste ręczniki, wodę, herbatę... to było bardzo miłe. Pokoje mają widok na Nil. Widok jest niesamowity. Nie ma żadnego problemu żeby dostać się z wyspy do miasta. Samo miasto Asuan nie jest tak atrakcyjne do odpoczynku i spania. Elefantina jest cicha i spokojna. Ferry jest tanie i kursuje bardzo często.
