Hostal Olga is located on the Costa Brava seafront in Sant Antoni de Calonge. Rooms with a private balcony and sea views. The rooms at the Olga feature simple décor. Very clean and chic. Staff were extremely warm and welcoming. Great restaurant. On the beach!

Pension Ciudadela guest house is opposite Barcelona’s França Train Station and 100 metres from Ciudadela Park. It offers basic air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi, and private bathroom facilities. The room was small but spotless and it had everything I needed. The staff is super friendly and helpful, communicated well and were there for me whenever I needed them. The location was perfect, right in front of the Francia station, in the Born neighbourhood, but it was quite, with no sound from the street. There are many excellent restaurants around and most of the main attractions are within a walking distance. Free coffee/tea/fruit/cakes all day long.

Hostal Goya has an ideal setting, 5 minutes’ walk from Plaza de Catalunya and Las Ramblas. It features stylish rooms and apartments with free Wi-Fi access. Everything, spacious for budget hotel. Great location, nice staff. The bath even had a tub ! Very clean

Pensió Bellmirall is located in the centre of Girona’s Old Town, just 100 metres from the cathedral. The simple rooms have private bathrooms, and there is a free Wi-Fi hotspot. I can't speak highly enough of the pension. The photos give some idea of how unique and authentic this place is. Travelling solo, I had a spacious room, a comfortable bed and facilities you'd expect in a 4 or 5 star hotel. And the hosts - You would go a long way to meet more friendly, pleasant, and helpful people such as Margarita and Cristina. Although the room didn't have a shower (external one came with a key to lock for private use), it had a hand basin and towel. A towel/dressing gown and slippers also provided!
