Upon arrival my hostess was quick to come and meet me outside making me feel very welcome. My room was very spacious with room to spread out my large suitcase on the extra bed. A full spread for tea and coffee was set in my room including biscuits and proper tea cups & saucers. There was milk (not artificial whitener) for my tea in a fridge that we could also use for our food. The bed was extremely comfortable with lots of pillows as well as all the linens and towels were great quality. The common spaces were modern and comfortable. And the hostess checked in before I went to bed. Great location to a lovely beach I wish I had booked this property for more than one night.

It was a great pleasure for us to stay at Michael's farmhouse. The house looks fantastic both inside and out. It's surrounded by peace, quiet, and nature; from the window you can see classic Irish landscapes with sheep grazing on the slopes in the surrounding area. Here you can have a good rest from the hustle and bustle of the city, but if you want to drink a pint of Guinness and listen to live music in the evening, the centre of Clifden is a three-minute drive away. Our room was clean and spacious, a handy bonus was that we had an en-suite bathroom. The breakfast was delicious and made "just like at home". We had the opportunity to tell about our desired breakfast time in advance, as well as our preferences. But a special delight for us was getting to know the owner of the house and his sister, with whom we felt not like Airbnb guests but rather like we were on a vacation at a distant relative's house. Michael and Patricia, thank you for your kindness and recommendations, which helped us to make some new holiday highlights. Hopefully, auf Wiedersehen! 🙂

Quietly situated, Mountain View Guesthouse is an Irish Tourist Board approved family-run 4-star guest house. Everything was just perfect - Patricia was the perfect host giving us lots of great information on where to get dinner, local spots to visit and just general banter! We had the best room in the place (imo). Breakfast was fabulous and i felt thoroughly spoilt!

Buttermilk Lodge offers self-catering apartments 5 minutes' walk from Clifden town centre, you can just park your car and easily walk to town. Exceptionally high standard of guest accommodation, absolute comfort, attention to every detail, comfortable furniture, spacious rooms, beautiful furnishings, artwork, small details that received very careful attention. I have travelled in over 30 countries, have stayed in many B&Bs and occasionally in 5-star hotels, but never found a place that equalled the careful thought that has been put into the accommodation at Buttermilk Lodge in Clifden. We will certainly return and we have taken the business cards provided to share with all our friends. Having a private lounge/kitchen in addition to ensuite bedroom was wonderful, with large TV in both rooms. Our hostess, Catriona, had left very welcome food in the frig -including orange juice, milk, plenty of butter, jam and marmalade - and we greatly appreicated her home-made brown bread and fruitcake - which was really thoughtful and generous. The fact that Buttermilk Lodge provides conditions for self catering in a private lounge with fully equipped kitchen, made our stay less expensive than if we were eating out every day. This accommodation is very conveniently located to Clifden town and access to all the wonders of the Connemara landscape and coastal resorts.
