The owner is super nice and very helpful ! Also the guesthouse is perfectly located, it is 2 to 5 minutes walk to all major spots to visit in Matsushima.

The space is clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a garden and a traditional storehouse. It’s not suitable for a rushed one-night stay — ideally, you should spend 2 to 3 days here to truly experience the architecture and lifestyle of the old house. The building itself is of historical value, and its previous owners have interesting stories. Simply put, you can think of this place as a small museum. Additionally, Murata Town, where it’s located, is also well worth a visit.
