Quiet and peaceful, cute mini houses and great gardens, plus a nice view on the river. Family is nice and inviting. Communicating was a bit hard, I mostly spoke to Han, and he always made sure I was okay. Homestay was a bit a far away from markets or anything else, but you should know that it’s mostly countryside. The good thing is they offer to use the bicycles for free or you can rent the scooters for a fee as taxis or grab are pretty hard to catch one.

She was my guide for the whole time and she took me to all the nicest and most beautiful places around Bến Tre told me about the culture ans how local people live. I had the best experience in Vietnam and I wish I stayed longer! My room was just in front of the river, the whole place is perfect to chill out, there’s a few hammocks and it’s pretty quiet. Duyen can lend you a bike or scooter to get around and I really recommend doing it as well as one of the tours that she run. It was the most relaxing experience I’ve had here, so nice!

Mekong Home is a family-run homestay, located on the stretch of Ham Luong River in Ben Tre. Guests can enjoy free use of bicycles, free WiFi access in entire area and free parking at a site nearby. Perfect location surrounded by coconut palms. One of the best food we had in Vietnam. All staff very friendly. We were offered nice tours and free bikes. Nice pool. Highly recommended!

The family are so lovely and welcoming, and it is a perfect spot to sit by the river, relax, see how the local people live. I definitely recommend doing the boat tour. We loved the authenticity of this place, so much so that we stayed 3 days instead of the 1 which we had planned. My husband didn't want to stop originally in Ben Tre and woke up the morning after suggesting we stayed extra :D You'll be surrounded by nature, peace, the most kind Vietnamese family and make sure you speak with Chi about going to the market and cooking with her family. It was something we also hadn't planned because we wanted to skip the tourist traps and it felt like going around Ben Tre with a friend. Bike available for free, Vietnamese coffee and delicious tea available during the day for a very small fee so you don't need to go out if you don't want to. We booked in the afternoon and Chi messaged me right away to organize a transfer from the bus station to the homestay - very smooth! Thank you Chi and your family and friends for making us feel at home, we'll remember the time on the hammocks once we're back to busy London!
