Breakfast was really good, staff were nice, nice family who were helpful and let us sort out payment two days later as it wasn’t working with the card machine. They had a kitchen which we also used to cook a few nights. Overall nice but it was more of a pousada not a traditional sociable hostel.

The hostel was more than perfect. The facilities are well-suited for travelers, with plenty of showers and a very good breakfast. The service from Carlos, Elyene, Kaué, and Nayara was phenomenal — they helped me book the tours in Lençóis Maranhenses and my transfer to Jericoacoara. They were very hospitable. I highly recommend this place for staying and exploring the Lençóis.

Tanan Hostel se află în São Luís și oferă cazare doar pentru adulți, precum și o grădină, un lounge comun și o terasă. The staff! Super friendly and helpful even though the girl did not speak much English. The other gentlemen were very considerate and helpful as well. The dorm beds were super comfortable and the shower rooms were very large. They let us take a quick shower after we checked out and we were all sweaty from touring the old town the whole day (Sao Luis is hot and humid!) Thank you so much for letting us shower because we had to take an overnight flight afterwards and if we hadn’t showered, it would’ve been a long and disgusting day. It saved us. Obrigado!

I enjoyed my stay here as it was quiet and the air conditioning kept the rooms nice and cold. When arriving make sure you punch in the number then turn the awkwardly high handle. Almost everyone had trouble getting in because they thought it was just the code. The staff and owner were very nice, welcoming, and I am grateful for their hospitality.
