Perfect accommodation, couldn't ask for anything more.The room was cosy. The kitchen is more equipped than my own. Beautiful dining area with a big window. Clean and curated bathroom. Also we had to cancel one of the nights we booked and they were kind enough to give us a full refund even if it was just one day before. I think that if every guest used the kitchen then it might get crowded, but on the night we were there it was just another couple of people, so it was perfect.

This Icelandic horse farm provides accommodation in Haukadalur Valley, 90 minutes’ drive from Reykjavik. Overlooking Geysir, it offers a guest lounge, garden and horse riding tours. Geysir Hestar is a wonderful place to stay when you are doing the golden circle. A cosy welcoming guesthouse in the countryside, you can see the geysir area from your window - and islandic horses. We combined our stay with a horseback ride and Fanny was a fabulous guide. Ella, who is managing the guesthouse, will help you with all the questions you have.

Located within the famous Golden Circle sightseeing trail, Héradsskólinn Historic Guesthouse overlooks Lake Laugarvatn, Hekla Volcano and the Eyjafjallajökull Glacier. The building is beautiful both inside and out, with a unique charm thanks to its history as an old school. The atmosphere has a very cool, distinctive vibe. Our room was on the smaller side, but it was comfortable and cozy. The shared bathrooms were decent and served their purpose. We also opted for breakfast, which featured a wide variety of options—and everything we tried was delicious.

Situated by Route 1 in central Selfoss, this accommodation offers free parking, free WiFi access and brightly decorated guest rooms. The Selfoss Geothermal Swimming Pool is 350 metres away. Quite enjoyed my stay there. Self-service check in with very good facilities. The shower was comfortably hot, which was what I needed after a long walk in winter. It’s pretty much in the center. It was clear and sunny the next morning so I woke up for a nice walk around.
