My party of 5 total stayed only one night when hiking the Magome to Nagiso section of the Nakasendo. Proximity to train station and Nakasendo trail was the original selling point, but we fell in love with the place as soon as our host toured us around. It feels like staying at an artsy bed and breakfast, except you provide the breakfast and you get the entire place to yourself. There's small, delightful touches of personality and hospitality every where you look. We did not want for anything. Our sweet host met us at the front door to enter data from our passports and then gave us a walk through of the building. Two toilets and two showers was perfect for a group of 5. Fridge and other kitchen appliances work great. We listened to the CD disc player on the wall while reading the books and it was a lovely experience.The futons were placed very thoughtfully according to our parties needs. In addition to the trail and train station, there's a grocery store, a historic bridge and a cafe all within a couple minutes walk. The patios were a great hang out spot and we saw monkeys near the river around 7am. Honestly, I wish we had stayed longer but our plans dictated we move on. Next time we will try to book a few more nights so we can explore the area more!

We’ve walked around the area nearby, Bohemian Shelter is definitely the most wonderful and cosy place to stay while in Hakuba! The host Gaspard and his dad are both very friendly and helpful with guests’ needs. The dinner they offer is delicious too!

I was initially skeptical about staying at Tsugaike seeing how the "main" resorts Happo-one and Hakuba 47 are quite a distance away. However, Hai Lodge was everything that previous reviewers had said. Tsugaike is a wonderful resort with many different terrains that would satisfy most people. The place was very well-maintained and clean. Josh and Victoria were wonderful hosts. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Hai Lodge and will definitely stay again next time!

Absolutely everything was fantastic in 1166 backpackers! We were received and welcomed so warmly and the staff gave us a great overview about things to do in Nagano and surroundings. Everyone is so friendly and caring, really exceptional and we felt home straight away! We slept in the mixed dorm, it was very comfy and we felt to have a lot of privacy even though it was a dorm. Everything (common areas, rooms and toilets/shower) is very clean and you can see that there is a lot of love and detail put into everything. The location is perfect just a few walking minutes to the center and walkable distance from the train station. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely come back!

Located just a 10-minute walk from Happo One Ski Resort’s gondola, Morino Lodge offers cosy accommodation with spacious guestrooms and a modern lounge. Hotel is very good, their staff so good. Rooms is very good and comfortable.
