It has a nice terrace with sun loungers overlooking the garden, in the dining area you have a view of green palm trees - you completely forget that you are in the busy city of Kandy. It is an oasis of peace. We had a double room, but I also saw a part designated as a hostel, everything new and very nice. Wifi worked great, breakfast was good. The operator can arrange a lot of interesting activities for you, including various hiking tours. He also called Pick Me for us when we left, because we did not have our own app. I recommend

That was a fantastic stay in Barefoot Inn. We had everything we needed, comfortable beds, clean bathroom and a very tasty Sri Lankan breakfast served by Jeewani, the owner, who is a very friendly, attentive and a supportive host.

The room is simple and very comfortable, with clean and cozy beds that made for a good night’s sleep. Bathrooms are well maintained and tended to daily, which we really appreciated. The facilities are straightforward, but everything worked smoothly, and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. The location is excellent just a short distance from the city centre, making it easy to explore Kandy, yet still quiet enough to enjoy some peace. What really stood out was the hospitality. The staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Breakfast each morning was a highlight delicious, generous, and a great start to the day. For the price this hostel offers exceptional value. Clean, convenient, and filled with genuine hospitality it felt more like staying with friends than in a hostel. We would definitely choose to stay here again when we return to Kandy.

With a shared bathroom equipped with a shower and free toiletries, rooms at Diamond shine hostal and bunk beds also provide guests with a city view. The units feature a safety deposit box. The property was clean. The mountain views are awesome. I bought two meals and the food was good.

Breakfast was very good and typically Sri Lankan. It's also possible to eat dinner at Buntys place, which was also very tasty. The House offers a little Garden and the area is calm. As a female solo traveller i felt safe.

We didn't want to go through a busy, big city and make sure to get a seat on a train to Ella so we decided to book a hostel a few stops before Kandy. It was the right choice as not only we got a help to get a ticket to Ella but also we had such a great time in this hostel that we just decided to stay one more day here! People just pass by Kandy but Kandy is full of interesting and historical sites to look around! The most helpful owner I've ever met in my traveling time, not only gave us an amazing tour around Kandy but also provided us with his speciality Lankan breakfast! The toilet & shower is very cleanly maintained, and you get the nice mountain and temple view, a small front garden to sit and relax, amazing local restaurants are nearby. You can never get these good things for the price in anywhere else! If I come back to Kandy again, I would definitely stay here again! The owner was just so knowledgeable about culture / society / history and friendly with exceptional English and made us comfortable in every way. Don't hesitate to come to this place!

All units include a safety deposit box. I really enjoyed staying here! The bed was crazy comfortable and one of the best I had in Sri Lanka so far! It’s really clean and the provided dinner and breakfast was also very yummy and a lot! For me the location was really nice at the one end of the lake but it’s a little walk (15 min) to the city center! But I really enjoyed walking by the lake! Would definitely come back

Kandy Royal Botanic Gardens is 13 km from the hostel and Pallekele International Cricket Stadium is 19 km away. We initially planned for only 2 nights, however extended our stay as we loved The Bliss! We stayed in the superior queen room, which is even better than the photos show. Lovely, clean accomodation situated amongst serene nature and a beautiful garden at an amazing price point. We had minimal issues with bugs/mosquitoes during our stay. Thanu and Chathura were fantastic, and make you feel like you’re at home. We had freshly prepared dinner by Thanu most nights, and the dishes were superb! Organise your tuk tuk through their driver Aja - very reasonable prices, though be prepared to hold on tight haha. We organised a day tour with him and his brother to Sigirya, Dambulla and Pirandugala at a really good price! They were both excellent. The accomodation is out of the town centre which is part of its appeal. It’s not hard to hail a tuk tuk either to the accomodation (ask the manager to talk to the driver to direct them), or on the main road. Alternatively getting the bus into Kandy was super easy - walk 10 mins down to the main road by the river and ask the locals where to stand for the bus stop. There are so many buses that pass by. Let the bus drivers assistant know you’re going to Kandy and they’ll let you know if you’re getting on the right bus. The bus fare ranges between 35-45 rupees one way. If you want to get the bus back just ask the locals (at the main Kandy bus terminal we got 613 towards Digana, and got off at the bottom of Jambugahapitiya Road then walked up to The Bliss). Overall, an absolute must stay in Kandy! Stunning accomodation at an amazing price point, with kind and heartfelt service from their staff. We will definitely be back if we return to Kandy.
